Top 10 Best Ear Nose Hair Trimmer Reviews

I think I speak for everyone when I say that no one likes nose hair. Ear hair isn’t much better, either. Of course, these hairs serve a vital purpose in protecting these vital sensory organs, but that doesn’t mean that overgrown nose hairs are attractive.

I remember a conversation a couple of older friends of mine had. This older gentleman was pushing 80 years old, and he just couldn’t be bothered to trim his nose hairs, despite his wife’s pleas and protestations. At his age, I can’t say I blame him.

Unfortunately, overgrown nose and ear hairs don’t just affect older men, and what may be acceptable for a retired man is quite a bit different than for a professional. And seriously, no woman wants to see that. Ever.

If you struggle with a problem in that department, you mind want to consider a specialized trimmer. Trimming tools especially designed for trimming the hairs in your sensitive membranes are a far better option than trying to use scissors. Best of all, trimmers average just $20 or $30.

That’s a small price to pay to keep unsightly nose hairs in their place, don’t you think?

Things to Consider

Here’s the problem with shopping for a nose/ear trimmer: what exactly should you look for? Is it not like this is the sort of thing men go out and buy every day? I get it. I was in your shoes once. So I’m going to help you out and tell you five things you should keep in mind when shopping for an ear/nose trimmer.

1. Trimming Head

There are different types of trimming heads out there, and some of them are more comfortable than others. Unfortunately, you can’t exactly return a trimmer after you’ve used it, so I recommend asking people you know which trimmer head they prefer.

2. Batter Power

Most nose hair trimmers run on battery power. It makes sense. You should know what type of battery to use, however. If a trimmer is designed to run on an alkaline battery or a lithium-ion battery, don’t try to substitute. It’s a bad idea.

3. Eyebrow Trimming

I don’t know about you, but I have a few hairs too many on the bridge of my nose. I’m not particularly vain, but I don’t really care to look like Frida Kahlo, either. Some trimmers work on eyebrows, and some do not, so if that’s something you want to use, check the trimmer before buying.

4. Ergonomic Design

Ergonomics aren’t just for chairs. An ergonomic handle isn’t the most important feature to look for, but if it’s easy and comfortable to grip the trimmer, you’ll probably have better results.

5. Price

Price isn’t a huge consideration because even the most expensive trimmers are hovering around $30. That said, I wouldn’t recommend buying a trimmer under $10. You’ll get what you pay for.

EDITORS PICK

I have a feeling that some of you gentlemen just want to get in and get out as fast as you can. You don’t want to spend a bunch of time reading up on different nose trimmers. You just want to grab a good one and go. I don’t blame you. If you’re looking for a good bet for your ear trimmer, I recommend the Panasonic ER-GN30-K. It costs less than $20, and it’s the #1 best-selling trimmer on Amazon.

10. Conair Nose, Ear, and Eyebrow Trimmer

Best Conair Nose Ear and Eyebrow TrimmerI think I speak for most men when I say that a nose and ear trimmer isn’t the sort of thing you generally plan on buying – unless you actually need it, of course. Suddenly you’re scrambling to find a good trimmer, and you have no idea what to buy.

If you’re looking for an inexpensive and glamourless trimmer, the Conair Nose, Ear, and Eyebrow Trimmer should fit your needs quite fine. It’s nothing fancy, but it’ll clean up those unwanted and unsightly hairs well enough. The trimmer is battery-operated, and the head is washable. The head is angled to provide easier access to your nose and ears.

In addition to trimming your nose and ears, the trimmer can also be used to keep your eyebrows in shape, especially if you’re like me and have too much hair above the nose. The Conair comes with a handy storage pouch and runs on a single AA battery. The trimmer isn’t very attractive, and it doesn’t have much in the way of special features, but it gets the job done.

Pros:

  • Trims ears, nose and eyebrows
  • Includes bikini trimmer
  • Runs on one alkaline AA battery

Cons:

  • Ugly design

9. Wahl 5546-200 Ear, Nose and Brow Trimmer

Best Wahl Ear Nose and Brow TrimmerLike the Conair trimmer, the Wahl 5546-200 Ear, Nose, and Brow Trimmer is an inexpensive model that works not just in your ears and nose but on your eyebrows as well.

While the Wahl fulfills the same functions as the Conair, there are some differences. First off, the design is more straightforward, and there are no angles. Even better, there are two different heads on this trimmer. One is meant especially for the nose and the other interchangeably between the brows and ears, making the Wahl more hygienic than the Conair model. It can work both wet and dry, and it comes with a little spotlight to help you see up your nose. Like the Conair, it uses a single AA battery.

The Wahl 5546-200 is hygienic, easy to clean and has a better design than the Conair. However, the trimmers don’t actually work as well as the Conair model, which I can’t help but find a little ironic. Still, this is a good trimmer, and as long as you’re not a perfectionist, it should work just fine.

Pros:

  • Trims ears, nose and eyebrows
  • Hygienic design
  • Built-in spotlight

Cons:

  • Trim can sometimes be uneven

8. Andis 13430 Trimmer

Best Andis TrimmerOne of the things I find amazing about the first four nose/ear hair trimmers is this: although they vary in price by a mere 50 cents, they all look, feel and function quite differently from each other.

Take the Andis 13430 Trimmer, for example. This trimmer uses an ergonomic stainless steel design for improved sterility it comes with a protective cap to keep the blades clean when in storage, and the blade cuts a little cleaner and neater than the previous models.

The Andis 13430 comes with an impressive five-year warranty, which makes me feel pretty good about its quality. No one backs a product with a five-year warranty unless they expect it to last that long, which is a pretty striking vote of confidence on the part of Andis for this simple trimmer.

The downside to the Andis is the casing. Looking at it, I expected it to be made out of stainless steel like the blades, or at least nickel or something. But no. It’s just plastic with chrome paint on it. I probably wouldn’t mind it so much if they hadn’t gone out of their way to make it look like metal. Still, it’s a minor complaint about an otherwise excellent nose/ear trimmer.

Pros:

  • Rust-free stainless steel blades
  • Backed by five-year warranty
  • Runs on one alkaline AA battery

Cons:

  • Doesn’t trim eyebrows

7. Remington NE3250 Nose, Ear, and Brow Trimmer

Remington Nose Ear and Brow Trimmer

The Remington NE3250 Trimmer feels like a cross between the Conair and the Wahl. Like the Wahl, it features separate heads for the nose and ear, and like the Conair, the nose trimmer is slanted at that awful angle.

Like the first two trimmers, the Remington is capable of trimming your eyebrows as well as your nose and ears, which is good. I also appreciate the fact that there are two different heads because it is a much my hygienic design. Like the Wahl, it can be used either wet or dry, and like all the other trimmers, it runs on a single AA battery.

The main problem with the Remington isn’t that it doesn’t trim well but that it is decidedly unreliable. I didn’t use it long enough to find out personally, but review after review on Amazon describe it giving up the ghost far too soon. The trimmer is protected by a two-year warranty, so if it puts out, you can return it for a replacement or for them to fix it. I respect the fact that they honor their warranty, but it sounds like too much of a hassle to me.

Pros:

  • Trims ears, nose and eyebrows
  • Hygienic design
  • Runs on one alkaline AA battery

Cons:

  • Is known to stop working sometimes

6. Panasonic ER-GN30-K Trimmer

Best Panasonic ERGNK TrimmerThe Panasonic ER-GN30-K Trimmer is the most popular nose and ear trimmer on Amazon, and for a good reason. It works well, it has a smart ergonomic design, and it runs for 90 minutes on a single battery.

Another reason I like the ER-GN30-K is that it’s designed not only to remove unwanted ear and nose hairs, but it trims stray facial hairs as well. You guys know what I’m talking about. No matter how neat you keep your beard, there’s always some impish hairs by your cheekbones where they don’t belong. Thanks to the dual-edge blades, it’s able to cut from both the tops and the sides. Your out-of-place hairs won’t stand a chance.

Although the ER-GN30-K is easy to wash and clean, I do wish it had a separate head for the nose and the ears. You can certainly clean and sanitize the blades with soap and water, but I still prefer a more hygienic approach.

Pros:

  • Trims ears, nose and stray facial hair
  • Dual-edge blades offer superior performance
  • Runs on one alkaline AA battery

Cons:

  • Not hygienically designed

5. Panasonic ER-430-K Ear & Nose Trimmer

Best Panasonic ERK Ear Nose TrimmerAh, back-to-back Panasonic trimmers. The Panasonic ER-430-K functions much like the ER-GN30-K but offers a sleeker, more streamlined design. Like the other Panasonic model, it is designed to clean up your facial hair in addition to trimming your nose and ears.

There is, however, one major difference between the ER-GN30-K and this model. The ER-430-K uses a micro-vacuum system to suck up your hairs and whiskers are they are trimmed, making it easier to keep your face clean and providing a clearer indication of your progress.

Aside from the micro-vacuum and some cosmetic differences, these two Panasonic trimmers are otherwise much the same. The difference in price is only a couple of dollars, so there’s not even a lot of reason to quibble over price. The micro-vacuum feels a little weird the first time, but if you can get past that, this is a pretty great trimmer.

Pros:

  • Trims ears, nose and stray facial hair
  • Dual-edge blades offer superior performance
  • Micro-vacuum cleans up as you trim

Cons:

  • Not hygienically designed

4. Philips NT5175/49 Norelco Nose Trimmer 5100

Best Philips NT Norelco Nose TrimmerHave you ever wished your nose trimmer could do more than just clean up your ear hairs? Well then, you’re in luck! The Philips Norelco Nose Trimmer 5100 includes not only the standard trimming head but also 3- and 5-millimeter eyebrow combs and a 3-millimeter beard comb.

While these comb attachments are not likely going to take the place of your beard trimmer, they are handy to have around if you’re traveling or simply want to touch up a few spots. The 5100 also includes a cleaning brush and a detail trimmer, letting you carry out precision work on your sideburns, mustache and other areas.

The 5100 is also the first nose/ear trimmer on this list to use a lithium AA battery. Although the lithium battery is not rechargeable, it should last quite a bit longer than a standard alkaline AA. The Philips Norelco 5100 is backed by a two-year warranty.

Pros:

  • Trims ears, nose and eyebrows
  • Includes beard and eyebrow combs
  • Runs on one lithium AA battery

3. ToiletTree Professional Water Resistant Heavy Duty Steel Nose Trimmer

ToiletTree Professional Water Resistant Heavy Duty Steel Nose TrimmerI mentioned earlier that I was constantly surprised by how different each of these trimmers is, considering their proximity in price. The difference was in this trimmer was immediately apparent. Unlike the Andis 13430, the body of the ToiletTree nose trimmer is actually made out of steel. Although there is plastic as well, the still definitely makes it feel sturdier.

The performance of this trimmer is just as high-quality as its construction. Hypoallergenic stainless steel blades offer a clean cut, making trimming easier and more comfortable. Like the Wahl trimmer at the beginning of this list, this also has a LED light, but it’s a lot brighter than the previous model. Like many of the other trimmer designs, the ToiletTree is also waterproof and can be used in either wet or dry environment.

Like the rest of the trimmers, ToiletTree requires a single AA battery. This is a good, strong, capable nose trimmer, and it is backed by a lifetime replacement warranty. It doesn’t come with a cap for the blade or a storage bag, but those are minor complaints. This is an excellent trimmer.

Pros:

  • Rust-free stainless steel blades
  • Backed by lifetime warranty
  • Built-in LED light

Cons:

  • Doesn’t come with a storage bag

2. Creation Springs Electra-Trim Nose and Ear Hair Trimmer

Creation Springs Electra-Trim Nose and Ear Hair TrimmerIn much the same way as the Panasonic R-430-K, Creation Springs Electra-Trim uses a triple-vented vacuum system to instantly whisk away your clippings as you tri, leaving you a clean surface to work with and minimizing clean-up time.

Although the chassis is made of plastic, there’s nothing flimsy about it. Built with recycled, rubberized impact-resistant material, there’s precious little chance of your ever breaking this trimmer. The Electra-Trim uses precision stainless steel blades for a quick, clean, comfortable cut that’s finished in moments.

Like a few previous models, the Electra-Trim also includes a bright LED to help you find stray strands of hair. Even better the Electra-Trim also includes an extra trimming blade, which I used to alternate between my ears and nose. Creation Springs is every bit as good as ToiletTree, and maybe even a little bit more.

Pros:

  • Rust-free stainless steel blades
  • Built-in LED light
  • Runs on one alkaline AA battery-o

Cons:

  • Doesn’t come with a storage bag

1. HLYOON 3 in 1 Nose & Ear Hair Trimmer

HLYOON Nose Ear Hair TrimmerIf you’re looking for the ultimate all-in-one grooming kit, you’ve hit the motherlode, my friend. This 3-in-1 trimmer set features three interchangeable heads for trimming your nose, ears, eyebrows, sideburns, and beard all at once.

Perhaps the most impressive thing about this trimmer is the solid stainless steel body. Unlike the ToiletTree trimmer, this bad boy is made from steel all the way. A child safety lock keeps curious little hands out of harm’s way, and its water-resistant design makes it perfect for use inside or out of the shower.

Like the last two nose trimmers, the 3-in-1 also includes a LED light. The rotary blade system comes with a safety cone, and the trimmer is backed by a three-year warranty. It also comes with a convenient stand, which offers yet another advantage over the last two trimmers.

The 3-in-1 does cost somewhat more than the other trimmers on this list, but I would hardly call it expensive. This would make an excellent gift set.

Pros:

  • Stainless steel chassis
  • Backed by three-year warranty
  • Built-in LED light

Cons:

  • Not rechargeable
