Top 10 Best Ear Nose Hair Trimmer Reviews

I think I speak for everyone when I say that no one likes nose hair. Ear hair isn’t much better, either. Of course, these hairs serve a vital purpose in protecting these vital sensory organs, but that doesn’t mean that overgrown nose hairs are attractive.

I remember a conversation a couple of older friends of mine had. This older gentleman was pushing 80 years old, and he just couldn’t be bothered to trim his nose hairs, despite his wife’s pleas and protestations. At his age, I can’t say I blame him.

Unfortunately, overgrown nose and ear hairs don’t just affect older men, and what may be acceptable for a retired man is quite a bit different than for a professional. And seriously, no woman wants to see that. Ever.

If you struggle with a problem in that department, you mind want to consider a specialized trimmer. Trimming tools especially designed for trimming the hairs in your sensitive membranes are a far better option than trying to use scissors. Best of all, trimmers average just $20 or $30.

That’s a small price to pay to keep unsightly nose hairs in their place, don’t you think?

Things to Consider

Here’s the problem with shopping for a nose/ear trimmer: what exactly should you look for? Is it not like this is the sort of thing men go out and buy every day? I get it. I was in your shoes once. So I’m going to help you out and tell you five things you should keep in mind when shopping for an ear/nose trimmer.

1. Trimming Head

There are different types of trimming heads out there, and some of them are more comfortable than others. Unfortunately, you can’t exactly return a trimmer after you’ve used it, so I recommend asking people you know which trimmer head they prefer.

2. Batter Power

Most nose hair trimmers run on battery power. It makes sense. You should know what type of battery to use, however. If a trimmer is designed to run on an alkaline battery or a lithium-ion battery, don’t try to substitute. It’s a bad idea.

3. Eyebrow Trimming

I don’t know about you, but I have a few hairs too many on the bridge of my nose. I’m not particularly vain, but I don’t really care to look like Frida Kahlo, either. Some trimmers work on eyebrows, and some do not, so if that’s something you want to use, check the trimmer before buying.

4. Ergonomic Design

Ergonomics aren’t just for chairs. An ergonomic handle isn’t the most important feature to look for, but if it’s easy and comfortable to grip the trimmer, you’ll probably have better results.

5. Price

Price isn’t a huge consideration because even the most expensive trimmers are hovering around $30. That said, I wouldn’t recommend buying a trimmer under $10. You’ll get what you pay for.

You just want to grab a good one and go. I don’t blame you. If you’re looking for a good bet for your ear trimmer, I recommend the Panasonic ER-GN30-K. It costs less than $20, and it’s the #1 best-selling trimmer on Amazon.

10. Conair Nose, Ear, and Eyebrow Trimmer

Best Conair Nose Ear and Eyebrow TrimmerI think I speak for most men when I say that a nose and ear trimmer isn’t the sort of thing you generally plan on buying – unless you actually need it, of course. Suddenly you’re scrambling to find a good trimmer, and you have no idea what to buy.

If you’re looking for an inexpensive and glamourless trimmer, the Conair Nose, Ear, and Eyebrow Trimmer should fit your needs quite fine. It’s nothing fancy, but it’ll clean up those unwanted and unsightly hairs well enough. The trimmer is battery-operated, and the head is washable. The head is angled to provide easier access to your nose and ears.

In addition to trimming your nose and ears, the trimmer can also be used to keep your eyebrows in shape, especially if you’re like me and have too much hair above the nose. The Conair comes with a handy storage pouch and runs on a single AA battery. The trimmer isn’t very attractive, and it doesn’t have much in the way of special features, but it gets the job done.

Pros:

  • Trims ears, nose and eyebrows
  • Includes bikini trimmer
  • Runs on one alkaline AA battery

Cons:

  • Ugly design

9. Wahl 5546-200 Ear, Nose and Brow Trimmer

Best Wahl Ear Nose and Brow TrimmerLike the Conair trimmer, the Wahl 5546-200 Ear, Nose, and Brow Trimmer is an inexpensive model that works not just in your ears and nose but on your eyebrows as well.

While the Wahl fulfills the same functions as the Conair, there are some differences. First off, the design is more straightforward, and there are no angles. Even better, there are two different heads on this trimmer. One is meant especially for the nose and the other interchangeably between the brows and ears, making the Wahl more hygienic than the Conair model. It can work both wet and dry, and it comes with a little spotlight to help you see up your nose. Like the Conair, it uses a single AA battery.

The Wahl 5546-200 is hygienic, easy to clean and has a better design than the Conair. However, the trimmers don’t actually work as well as the Conair model, which I can’t help but find a little ironic. Still, this is a good trimmer, and as long as you’re not a perfectionist, it should work just fine.

Pros:

  • Trims ears, nose and eyebrows
  • Hygienic design
  • Built-in spotlight

Cons:

  • Trim can sometimes be uneven

8. Andis 13430 Trimmer

Best Andis TrimmerOne of the things I find amazing about the first four nose/ear hair trimmers is this: although they vary in price by a mere 50 cents, they all look, feel and function quite differently from each other.

Take the Andis 13430 Trimmer, for example. This trimmer uses an ergonomic stainless steel design for improved sterility it comes with a protective cap to keep the blades clean when in storage, and the blade cuts a little cleaner and neater than the previous models.

The Andis 13430 comes with an impressive five-year warranty, which makes me feel pretty good about its quality. No one backs a product with a five-year warranty unless they expect it to last that long, which is a pretty striking vote of confidence on the part of Andis for this simple trimmer.

The downside to the Andis is the casing. Looking at it, I expected it to be made out of stainless steel like the blades, or at least nickel or something. But no. It’s just plastic with chrome paint on it. I probably wouldn’t mind it so much if they hadn’t gone out of their way to make it look like metal. Still, it’s a minor complaint about an otherwise excellent nose/ear trimmer.

Pros:

  • Rust-free stainless steel blades
  • Backed by five-year warranty
  • Runs on one alkaline AA battery

Cons:

  • Doesn’t trim eyebrows

7. Remington NE3250 Nose, Ear, and Brow Trimmer

Remington Nose Ear and Brow Trimmer

The Remington NE3250 Trimmer feels like a cross between the Conair and the Wahl. Like the Wahl, it features separate heads for the nose and ear, and like the Conair, the nose trimmer is slanted at that awful angle.

Like the first two trimmers, the Remington is capable of trimming your eyebrows as well as your nose and ears, which is good. I also appreciate the fact that there are two different heads because it is a much my hygienic design. Like the Wahl, it can be used either wet or dry, and like all the other trimmers, it runs on a single AA battery.

The main problem with the Remington isn’t that it doesn’t trim well but that it is decidedly unreliable. I didn’t use it long enough to find out personally, but review after review on Amazon describe it giving up the ghost far too soon. The trimmer is protected by a two-year warranty, so if it puts out, you can return it for a replacement or for them to fix it. I respect the fact that they honor their warranty, but it sounds like too much of a hassle to me.

Pros:

  • Trims ears, nose and eyebrows
  • Hygienic design
  • Runs on one alkaline AA battery

Cons:

  • Is known to stop working sometimes

6. Panasonic ER-GN30-K Trimmer

Best Panasonic ERGNK TrimmerThe Panasonic ER-GN30-K Trimmer is the most popular nose and ear trimmer on Amazon, and for a good reason. It works well, it has a smart ergonomic design, and it runs for 90 minutes on a single battery.

Another reason I like the ER-GN30-K is that it’s designed not only to remove unwanted ear and nose hairs, but it trims stray facial hairs as well. You guys know what I’m talking about. No matter how neat you keep your beard, there’s always some impish hairs by your cheekbones where they don’t belong. Thanks to the dual-edge blades, it’s able to cut from both the tops and the sides. Your out-of-place hairs won’t stand a chance.

Although the ER-GN30-K is easy to wash and clean, I do wish it had a separate head for the nose and the ears. You can certainly clean and sanitize the blades with soap and water, but I still prefer a more hygienic approach.

Pros:

  • Trims ears, nose and stray facial hair
  • Dual-edge blades offer superior performance
  • Runs on one alkaline AA battery

Cons:

  • Not hygienically designed

5. Panasonic ER-430-K Ear & Nose Trimmer

Best Panasonic ERK Ear Nose TrimmerAh, back-to-back Panasonic trimmers. The Panasonic ER-430-K functions much like the ER-GN30-K but offers a sleeker, more streamlined design. Like the other Panasonic model, it is designed to clean up your facial hair in addition to trimming your nose and ears.

There is, however, one major difference between the ER-GN30-K and this model. The ER-430-K uses a micro-vacuum system to suck up your hairs and whiskers are they are trimmed, making it easier to keep your face clean and providing a clearer indication of your progress.

Aside from the micro-vacuum and some cosmetic differences, these two Panasonic trimmers are otherwise much the same. The difference in price is only a couple of dollars, so there’s not even a lot of reason to quibble over price. The micro-vacuum feels a little weird the first time, but if you can get past that, this is a pretty great trimmer.

Pros:

  • Trims ears, nose and stray facial hair
  • Dual-edge blades offer superior performance
  • Micro-vacuum cleans up as you trim

Cons:

  • Not hygienically designed

4. Philips NT5175/49 Norelco Nose Trimmer 5100

Best Philips NT Norelco Nose TrimmerHave you ever wished your nose trimmer could do more than just clean up your ear hairs? Well then, you’re in luck! The Philips Norelco Nose Trimmer 5100 includes not only the standard trimming head but also 3- and 5-millimeter eyebrow combs and a 3-millimeter beard comb.

While these comb attachments are not likely going to take the place of your beard trimmer, they are handy to have around if you’re traveling or simply want to touch up a few spots. The 5100 also includes a cleaning brush and a detail trimmer, letting you carry out precision work on your sideburns, mustache and other areas.

The 5100 is also the first nose/ear trimmer on this list to use a lithium AA battery. Although the lithium battery is not rechargeable, it should last quite a bit longer than a standard alkaline AA. The Philips Norelco 5100 is backed by a two-year warranty.

Pros:

  • Trims ears, nose and eyebrows
  • Includes beard and eyebrow combs
  • Runs on one lithium AA battery

3. ToiletTree Professional Water Resistant Heavy Duty Steel Nose Trimmer

ToiletTree Professional Water Resistant Heavy Duty Steel Nose TrimmerI mentioned earlier that I was constantly surprised by how different each of these trimmers is, considering their proximity in price. The difference was in this trimmer was immediately apparent. Unlike the Andis 13430, the body of the ToiletTree nose trimmer is actually made out of steel. Although there is plastic as well, the still definitely makes it feel sturdier.

The performance of this trimmer is just as high-quality as its construction. Hypoallergenic stainless steel blades offer a clean cut, making trimming easier and more comfortable. Like the Wahl trimmer at the beginning of this list, this also has a LED light, but it’s a lot brighter than the previous model. Like many of the other trimmer designs, the ToiletTree is also waterproof and can be used in either wet or dry environment.

Like the rest of the trimmers, ToiletTree requires a single AA battery. This is a good, strong, capable nose trimmer, and it is backed by a lifetime replacement warranty. It doesn’t come with a cap for the blade or a storage bag, but those are minor complaints. This is an excellent trimmer.

Pros:

  • Rust-free stainless steel blades
  • Backed by lifetime warranty
  • Built-in LED light

Cons:

  • Doesn’t come with a storage bag

2. Creation Springs Electra-Trim Nose and Ear Hair Trimmer

Creation Springs Electra-Trim Nose and Ear Hair TrimmerIn much the same way as the Panasonic R-430-K, Creation Springs Electra-Trim uses a triple-vented vacuum system to instantly whisk away your clippings as you tri, leaving you a clean surface to work with and minimizing clean-up time.

Although the chassis is made of plastic, there’s nothing flimsy about it. Built with recycled, rubberized impact-resistant material, there’s precious little chance of your ever breaking this trimmer. The Electra-Trim uses precision stainless steel blades for a quick, clean, comfortable cut that’s finished in moments.

Like a few previous models, the Electra-Trim also includes a bright LED to help you find stray strands of hair. Even better the Electra-Trim also includes an extra trimming blade, which I used to alternate between my ears and nose. Creation Springs is every bit as good as ToiletTree, and maybe even a little bit more.

Pros:

  • Rust-free stainless steel blades
  • Built-in LED light
  • Runs on one alkaline AA battery-o

Cons:

  • Doesn’t come with a storage bag

1. HLYOON 3 in 1 Nose & Ear Hair Trimmer

HLYOON Nose Ear Hair TrimmerIf you’re looking for the ultimate all-in-one grooming kit, you’ve hit the motherlode, my friend. This 3-in-1 trimmer set features three interchangeable heads for trimming your nose, ears, eyebrows, sideburns, and beard all at once.

Perhaps the most impressive thing about this trimmer is the solid stainless steel body. Unlike the ToiletTree trimmer, this bad boy is made from steel all the way. A child safety lock keeps curious little hands out of harm’s way, and its water-resistant design makes it perfect for use inside or out of the shower.

Like the last two nose trimmers, the 3-in-1 also includes a LED light. The rotary blade system comes with a safety cone, and the trimmer is backed by a three-year warranty. It also comes with a convenient stand, which offers yet another advantage over the last two trimmers.

The 3-in-1 does cost somewhat more than the other trimmers on this list, but I would hardly call it expensive. This would make an excellent gift set.

Pros:

  • Stainless steel chassis
  • Backed by three-year warranty
  • Built-in LED light

Cons:

  • Not rechargeable

Top 10 Best Beard Oil Reviews

Although beards of varying styles and lengths have been popular in most cultures and societies throughout most of human history (Classical Greece and Rome being two of the most notable exceptions), beards went out of style sometime around the end of the 19th century, and are only recently making a comeback.

For several thousand years at least, it has also been a custom, at least among those who had the means, to keep their beards healthy and luxurious with the use of beard oil. Certain passages in the Old Testament, for example, speak of anointed the head and beard with oil.

Beard oil remains one of the best ways to treat as while as style your beard, and it is all but essential for anyone who is serious about keeping their beard healthy, luxurious and sexy. We’ve done some sleuthing around and are ready to recommend to you some of the best beard oils money can buy.

Things to Consider

If you want to take care of your beard, then you need to buy a quality beard oil. There are quite a few things you should know about beard oil, things to consider when making your purchase. After all, your beard is a major part of your life. You should take care of it. Here are five things to keep in mind when searching for beard oil.

1. Natural Ingredients

Your beard deserves the best, and that means natural ingredients. All products are going to have something of a different composition, but things to look for include Moroccan Argan, coconut, grapeseed almonds oils.

2. Fragrance

Some beard oils are scented, and others are not. There’s nothing wrong with this either way, as its a matter of preference. But it might be a good idea to get sample bottles first to see if you like the scent before you commit to buy.

3. Volume of Bottle

It’s important to get your money’s worth, so you’ll want to pay attention to the volume of the bottle, as well as how much oil is dispensed each time and how much oil your beard will require. This is one factor you’ll probably have to figure out over time.

4. Stimulant or Conditioner

Some people like to use beard oil to stimulate growth as well as condition their hair, but not all beard oils work for that. If beard growth is important to you, try to find an oil that has verified results

5. Price

Most bottles of beard oil range from $10 to $20, but that doesn’t mean they’re really all the same price. When price checking, see what the volume of the bottle is first. The cost per ounce may be much higher than you realize.

10. Men’s Choice Beard Fragrance-Free Oil

Mens Choice Beard Fragrance Free Oil

Maintaining a glorious beard does not happen overnight. It takes time and careful maintenance, and beard oil can be very helpful in this regard. Although Men’s Choice is a low-cost beard oil, it actually works really well. It uses all-natural ingredients that help to condition your beard for softer hairs.

When I shave my beard, it’s usually because the itchiness starts to bother me. That’s one way Men’s Choice can help. In addition to functioning as a conditioner, this oil also works to soothe your skin, relieving the irritation and itchiness that sometimes accompanies the bearded life. Because the oil is fragrance-free, it’s a perfect choice for anyone who is sensitive to odors or who simply wants their beard to smell natural.

While the beard oil works well, the bottle leaves much to be desired, and it does not dispense the oil properly. This means there’s a good chance you’ll end up using more than you need and go through the bottle faster. So although this is a cheaper solution than many other beard oils, the bottle may not last as long as you think. Men’s Choice Beard oil comes in a one-ounce bottle.

8. Grave Before Shave Bay Rum Oil

Best Grave Before Shave Bay Rum OilIn college, all the men used to do something called “No-Shave November,” and we’d all grow our beards out to their fullest potential before capping it off with a meat-filled barbeque extravaganza. It was glorious.

This beard oil reminds me of those times, if only by virtue of its awesome name. I doubt most men take the adage seriously, but if you do, this is a great oil to keep that life-saving beard in good health. Grave before Shave is an oil and conditioner. It comes in an ounce bottle and features a handy dropper that makes applying the oil really easy.

Grave Before Shave conditions and moisturizes your beard, keeping it luxurious and healthy and promoting growth by limiting skin irritation. It’s made with simple ingredients and derives its scent from essential oils, including rum and coconut.

4. The Manskape Wild Willie’s Beard Elixir

Best Manskape Wild Willie s Beard ElixirA lot of people are allergic to nuts. Unfortunately, it’s hard to find a beard oil that doesn’t use nuts as an ingredient. It’s perfectly understandable, of course; mot natural sources of fat come from nuts. However, Manskape wanted to create a solution for the problem. The answer was Wild Willie’s Beard Elixer.

Made with all organic ingredients and avoiding nuts entirely, Wild Willie’s is an impressive achievement, simultaneously moisturizing your beard while protecting your skin against rashes and dryness. This oil is a bit different from most of the others, however. It comes in a spray bottle rather than a dropper bottle, making it harder to control the exact amount of oil used. Because of this, it doesn’t really last as long as other oils. Wild Willie’s comes in a two-ounce bottle.

Ingredients: apricot kernel oil, grapeseed oil, gold jojoba oil, castor oil, argan oil, emu oil, vitamin E, tea tree essential oil, cedarwood essential oil, rosemary essential oil

Pros:

  • All-natural ingredients

Like most beard oils, Beardsmen Spirit is made in the United States. Beardsmen Spirit works double duty, softening and moisturizing your beard while working to minimize dry skin and itchiness sometimes causes by beards. 2. The Bearded Bastard Woodsman Beard Oil

The Bearded Bastard Woodsman Beard OilThe Bearded Bastard is one of the most popular brands of beard oil. Made from scratch in Austin, Texas since 2011, this oil is scented with essential oil from local Texas cedar and is made with all-natural ingredients.

The Bearded Bastard fights dry skin, dandruff and rashes with a powerful combination of natural oils that soothe the skin while working to moisturize the beard, allowing it to be as soft and free as nature intended. Unlike some beard oils that work best with beards that are fully established, the Bearded Bastard is designed to work with developing beards as well, so no one has to suffer through wiry facial hair and irritated skin.

Woodsman Beard Oil comes in a one-ounce bottle, so it’s a little more expensive than most beard oils. But it delivers very good results, and its pine-fresh scent is very pleasant.

Ingredients: sweet almond oil, safflower oil, grapeseed oil, jojoba oil, argan oil, olive oil, castor oil, natural fragrance

Pros:

  • All-natural
  • Moisturizes beard and encourages growth
  • Works well with beards of all sizes

Cons:

  • Small bottle for the price

 Best Beard Oils Under $25

1. Beardbrand Tree Ranger Beard Oil

Beardbrand Tree Ranger Beard Oil

Like the Bearded Bastard, Beardbrand comes in a one-ounce bottle. Unlike the Bearded Bastard, the packaging isn’t nearly as pleasant to look at. You’re buying oil for the goods, not the packaging, however, so let’s consider what’s inside it.

Like several other beard oils I tried, Tree Ranger uses scents of eucalyptus, cedar and pine, along with five natural oils designed to soften the beard and moisturize your skin. Despite Beardbrand’s claims of being the best beard oil on the market, however, I have a couple of mild complaints. It doesn’t include a dropper, which is inexcusable, as other oils half the price come with one. As a result, it’s somewhat difficult to get the oil out of the bottle. The other problem is that the smell can be quite overpowering, especially to those with sensitive noses.

As far as beard oil goes, this works well. It’s natural and moisturizing and helps to soften and regulate the beard, so it looks great. The fragrance, while strong, does quickly fade, so I can’t hold the scent against it too much. But the lack of a dropper is just poor planning.

Ingredients: jojoba oil, almond oil, grapeseed oil, castor oil, essential oils (fragrance), grapefruit seed extract

Pros:

  • All-natural
  • Moisturizes beard and encourages growth

Cons:

  • Small bottle for the price
  • No dropper

Conclusion

If you want to keep your beard happy and healthy, you should invest in some beard oil. They’re natural and healthy and will preserve your facial glory, and you can rest assured that you are joining the glorious ranks of millions of men throughout history. Whether you want to Grave Before Shave, join the Beardsmen, show off your Manskape, revel in being a Natural Man, embrace your Honest Amish or enjoy the sweet honeysuckle of Leven Rose, you have a world of choices to choose from. And if you really can’t choose, get two or three of them. Beard oil isn’t expensive, and it will last you a long time. That way, you’ll be able to tailor your beard to different occasions.

Your beard is your pride. Embrace it.

Top 10 Best Fogless Shaving Mirror Reviews

What do rush hour in Dallas and a foggy mirror while you’re trying to shave have in common? Both are frustrating and take way too long to get where you’re going.

I’ll go out on a limb here and say that Rush hour is the bigger inconvenience. But maybe you couldn’t have beaten the traffic on I-30 if your mirror didn’t keep fogging up.

What’s the difference between rush hour and a foggy mirror? You can’t change the traffic, but you can buy a better mirror.

A lot of men shave either in the shower with a shower mirror or right after they leave the shower. It’s part of the morning ritual. Unfortunately, standard bathroom mirrors will consistently fog up on you. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wiped the condensation off my mirror trying to get a clean shave, only to show up at work and notice I missed a couple of spots.

Sure, no one says anything. But that doesn’t mean they don’t see it.

If my morning routine sounds at all like yours, do what I did and buy a fogless shaving mirror. They don’t have to replace your standard bathroom mirror, and many of them are designed to work in the shower so you can shave in there.

There are a lot of great fogless mirrors out there, but there are just as many that plainly don’t work. If you’d rather not waste your time and money buying something that doesn’t do what it’s supposed to, this guide can help. I’ve done careful research to find ten of the best shaving mirrors out there.

If you’re tired of waging war against humidity, it’s time to win the battle once and for all.

Things to Consider

I’m a simple guy. I only want one thing in a mirror: to show my reflection clearly. As long as a mirror doesn’t fog up too badly while I’m shaving, I consider it a success. Still, there are a few things you should keep in mind while shopping for a shaving mirror.

1. Size

Location, location. Do you shave in the shower, or do you prefer to shave over the bathroom sink? Will your shaving mirror replace your main bathroom mirror or compliment it? Answering these questions will go a long way towards determining how big or small your mirror should be.

2. Purpose

Guys use mirrors mainly for shaving or grooming their hair. Women use mirrors for makeup. Some shaving mirrors double as makeup mirrors, making them a good choice for those who wish to share with their significant other.

3. Support Base

Do you want a mirror with a suction on the back that clings to the wall? Are you going to hang it, or will it be supported by a sink or vanity?

4. Durability

As you might know from cheap mirrors, mirrors can get scratched, or the reflective coating can scrape off. Try to pick a mirror that’s less likely to suffer from these irritations.

5. Price

This is one of those situations where paying less is usually a good thing. A fogless shaving mirror shouldn’t break the bank, and most of the good ones cost around $30 or less. Be wary of spending more money on this one, because it’s no guarantee of being a better product.

EDITORS PICK

There are a lot of good mirrors on this list, and they don’t all have the same features in common. While it didn’t have some of the deluxe features of other more expensive mirrors, I thought the performance of the No Fog Shower Mirror by Upper West Collection was the best.

Best Fogless Shaving Mirrors Under $25

10. Reflect XL Shower Mirror

Best Reflect Shower MirrorMy roommate bought a shaving mirror once for using in the shower. He was disgusted with it because it fogged up while he was showering, making it absolutely useless. While this is a frustrating experience, it happens to a lot of people.

That’s why it’s nice to find a shower mirror that actually works. This particular model, made by Mirror on a Rope, is a simple shaving mirror that hangs from an adhesive hook that is included with your purchase. It’s small, measuring 7.6” by 5.6”, making it a perfect fit for your showering needs. It’s made with shatterproof glass, so it’s durable, and the adhesive hook is easily removable, making it a handy, portable mirror.

It’s not perfect. It’s pretty small, so you have to get up real close to make sure you’ve shaved everything, and I’m not quite used to something so small. Still, if you don’t have a lot of room or you just want a basic shower companion, you can’t go wrong with this one. It’s priced very affordably as well.

Pros:

  • Patented design resists flaking
  • Perfect for use in showers

Cons:

  • Small size may not be ideal for all locations

9. Deluxe Shave Well Fog-free Shower Mirror

Deluxe Shave Well Fog free Shower Mirror

There are a lot of so-called fog-free mirrors out there, but a lot of them don’t work as they promise. The Deluxe Shave Well Fog-free Shower Mirror is a small, fogless mirror especially designed for use in the shower. The mirror measures 6.83 x 5.25 inches.

The whole point of a shower mirror is that they don’t fog up, which is obviously one of the most important points. But it’s also important that they have a way to hang safely without walling. Suction cups can loose their stickiness, and if a mirror falls, chances are it’ll break. The Shave Well shower mirror hangs on a hook, which makes it a perfect choice for a permanent shower resident.

Unfortunately, the mirrored area itself tends to shrink slowly as it is continually exposed to humidity and warm water. I don’t know how long the mirror would last, but I suspect after a couple of years it wouldn’t be much use. Still, the mirror costs less than $15, so it’s not a serious investment and it functions very well.

Pros:

  • Mirror hangs on hook for easy shower installed
  • Doesn’t need to be re-treated

Cons:

  • Constant exposure to humidity slowly flakes the mirror

8. ToiletTree Fogless Shower Mirror with Squeegee

ToiletTree Fogless Mirror with Squeegee

Some people want a fog-free mirror to be stationary. Others want something they cab move around with them. The portability of this fog-free mirror makes it perfect for traveling. Whether you are going to the gym, college or on a business tour, the ToiletTree Fogless Shower Mirror is easy to carry and is covered by a return policy if the mirror fails to perform as expected.

ToiletTree uses an innovative design that takes your own hot shower water to prevent fogging. It’s simple: just fill the hot water in the reservoir with shower-temperature water. This maintains the temperature of the mirror and provides you with a clear, fog-free view. The mirror has double suction cups that allow you to hang it on the wall while making it easy to take it with you elsewhere. It’s small size (4.75 x 5.5 inches) makes it the perfect size for your toiletry bag, and it even comes with a drawstring pouch to keep it protected while traveling.

This is a pretty cool idea, and as long as you keep warm water in the mirror when in use, it works like a charm. If you’re looking for a portable travel mirror, this is an awesome choice.

Pros:

  • Innovative design eliminates fog
  • Includes travel pouch

Cons:

  • Suction cups can wear out

7. Mirrorvana Fogless Shower Mirror

Mirrorvana Fogless Shower MirrorThis simple square mirror is a recent arrival on the scene, having just been developed anew in 2016. The Mirrorvana has been treated with a fog-resistant coating to guarantee that it doesn’t fog up. It also has a specially designed suction cup that helps it attach to a flat surface.

The Mirrorvana is adjustable and easy to install, and the suction works especially well on flat, non-porous surfaces. The suction also has a unique locking mechanism that helps it to stay in place. The mirror is light and compact, measuring just 6.3 x 6.3 inches.

Not only is the Mirrorvana perfect for shaving in the shower, but its compact size also makes it a convenient travel mirror. There is a downside to the mirror, however. The fog-resistant coating will eventually wear off, and when it does, you’ll have to spray it again with anti-fogging spray.

Pros:

  • Treated with fog resistant coating
  • Small size is convenient for travel

Cons:

  • Suction cups can wear out
  • Fog resistant coating will eventually wear off

6. ToiletTree Fogless Shower Mirror with Stand

Best ToiletTree Fogless Shower MirrorLike the previous ToiletTree Fogless mirror, this shower mirror also comes with a squeegee, but rather than hanging on the wall, it has a stand. This model is quite a bit larger than the last one and is designed to be stationary rather than portable.

Other than it’s larger size (the mirror measures 8.5 x 9 inches), it is identical in every way to the portable ToiletTree shower mirror. Simply add warm water to the reservoir, and the mirror won’t fog. You can use it with the stand or stick it to the wall with adhesive. The only real thing to worry about is if the mirror falls. While the mirror is shatter resistant, there are no guarantees that it won’t chip.

In short, this is a very cool mirror, perfect for use in the shower or bathroom. It’s fairly large, and the reservoir is easy to fill, making this a perfect shaving mirror.

Pros:

  • Innovative design eliminates fog
  • Includes a stand

Cons:

  • Adhesive on the back isn’t the greatest

5. KEDSUM Fogless Shaving Mirror with Razor Holder

KEDSUM Fogless Shaving Mirror with Razor HolderIn much the same way as the ToiletTree fog free shaving mirrors, the KEDSUM fogless shaving mirror works by applying hot water to the mirror right before you start each shower. However, it has several helpful features that make this an excellent choice.

Like most shaving mirrors, the KEDSUM attaches to the wall via a suction cup. While this is the most practical way of affixing a shower mirror to a stall, they don’t stay up forever, and they always seem to fall in the middle of the night when the baby is asleep. Still, the suction is pretty strong, which is a good thing.

What makes this mirror excellent are two things: a razor holder and, mirror importantly, a 360-degree rotating view that allows you to see at any angle, dramatically improving the quality of the shave by offering superior visibility, and also making it a more convenient mirror. This mirror is easy to install and easy to use, and the arm that holds the mirror is very strong. An excellent choice.

Pros:

  • Innovative design eliminates fog
  • 360-degree swivel arm
  • Includes razor holder

Cons:

  • Suction cups can wear out

4. Upper West Collection No Fog Shower Mirror

Best Upper West Collection No Fog Shower MirrorI’m not a big fan of suction cups, as I don’t really trust their ability to grip humid surfaces. However, I really like the design of this mirror. The slick, modern design extend the mirror away from the wall, allowing warm air to cover both sides of the mirror, preventing condensation. This design also allows you to tilt the mirror in various ways, giving you a better view of your face and allowing you to clean up missed spots.

The Upper West Collection, No Fog Shower Mirror, is available in three different sizes, allowing customers to choose just the right product to fit them. Some showers are bigger than others, after all. The mirror also comes with a second suction cup designed to hold your razor, giving you a convenient place to store your razor before and after your shave.

This isn’t a perfect design. The mirror isn’t absolutely fool-proof, and you have to remember to splash it with water when you start the shower, so it doesn’t fog up. However, it makes up for this limitation with some interesting strengths, making this a worthwhile shower mirror.

Pros:

  • 360º adjustable mirror
  • Includes bonus razor holder
  • Available in three sizes

Cons:

  • Suction cups can wear out

3. ToiletTree Deluxe LED Fogless Shower Mirror

ToiletTree Deluxe LED Fogless ShowerIf you love ToiletTree Fogless Mirrors but have always wanted something larger, your prayers have been answered. ToiletTree manufactured this fogless mirror larger than its other models, measuring 9.6 x 9.5 inches. Built-in LED lights allow you to see better in the shower, helping you to get a better shave.

There is a shelf at the base of the mirror that holds the squeegee so you can wipe off water that gets in the mirror, preserving the coating. Instead of using untrustworthy suction cups, the mirror is backed with a strong adhesive that latches the mirror firmly onto the wall.

I really like ToiletTree mirrors (aside from the name), and their Deluxe LED Fogless Shower Mirror is no different. This is one of the largest and most effective shower mirrors on the market, and I recommend you give it a try.

Pros:

  • Innovative design eliminates fog
  • Includes a stand
  • Uses LED lights for better sight

Cons:

  • Adhesive backing is no substitute for a hook

2. simple human Wall Mount Shower Mirror

Best simple human Wall Mount Shower MirrorThe good: the wall-mounted shower mirror from simple human looks great and can be secured to your shower tile with silicon glue. The bad: it’s pretty expensive.

The simple human Wall Mount Shower Mirror aims to solve one of the biggest problems facing shower mirrors: suction cups and simple adhesives don’t work forever. Sooner or later, that mirror will fall. This mirror uses silicon glue, a powerful adhesive, to keep the mirror in place, reducing the chances of a noisy fall. It features a convenient storage hook, fog-free finish, and multi-directional pivot.

The downside is that this, like most fog-free mirrors, will eventually lose the coating that keeps the mirror condensation-free, and sooner or later it’s going to get hazy. This happens with most fogless mirrors, but the big deal here is that this mirror is more than $40. That’s a bit more than a $10 throwaway mirror.

Pros:

  • Stays securely attached to the wall
  • Doesn’t need to be re-treated

Cons:

  • Coating eventually gets hazy

Best Fogless Shaving Mirrors Under $75

1. Brookstone Fogless Shower Mirror

Brookstone Fogless Shower Mirror

As always, I save the most expensive mirror for last. The Brookstone Fogless Shower Mirror features a durable stainless steel frame to give you peace of mind. The mirror also features that allows you to perform tasks in minimal lighting and helps you to see clearly in foggy showers.

Like the ToiletTree mirrors, the Brookstone uses a reservoir of warm water to prevent fogging while utilizing integrated waterproof LED lights with an automatic five-minute shutoff to improve your visual perception.

The 5-minute automatic shut off function gives you a peace of mind as you don’t need to remember to turn off the unit. It is powered by four AA batteries. The shatterproof mirror features a reservoir cup holder, squeegee and razor holder, and is secured to the wall by three suction cups.

All in all, this is a very nice mirror with a stylish design. It’s a little on the expensive side, but it does what it needs to. I just really hate suction cups.

Pros:

  • Innovative design eliminates fog
  • Stainless steel frame
  • Uses LED lights for better sight

Cons:

  • Suction cups can wear out

Top 10 Best Body Hair Trimmers for Men Reviews

Not all men are particularly fastidious over their body hair – I count myself as one of them. That said, many men like to keep their body hair trimmed and clean. Whether it’s trimming your armpits, your chest or, god forbid, your back, a good body trimmer can do wonders for your physique.

While body trimmers are similar to razors, they are not identical. When it comes to keeping down body hair, they are superior in many ways to traditional razors.

As I’m sure you may know, some body trimmers simply aren’t very good, but you won’t necessarily know that simply by looking at them in the store. We understand the dilemma, and our team has done careful research to find some of the best body trimmers on sale today.

No matter what your budget may be, there’s a product on this list that matches it. So sit back, kick up your feet and read on.

Things to Consider

A body trimmer is very similar to a beard trimmer or hair clipper, but they are designed to accommodate the hairs and musculature of different parts of your body. Here are some things to keep in mind while shopping for your next purchase.

1. Adjustability

One of the most important features of a body hair trimmer is its ability to adjust to different lengths. Everyone has different preferences for how long their body hair should be, and a good body trimmer should reflect that.

2. Power Supply

Some trimmers are corded and plug into a wall. Others are battery-powered. If they have a battery, is it a rechargeable one with a power charging station? How long will it take to charge the trimmer after it dies? If you have a lot of hair to trim and a trimmer takes eight hours to charge, that may not be a good fit.

3. Running Time

If the trimmer is not battery-powered and has a cable, it will be able to run forever. But if it runs on battery power, pay attention to how long it’ll run before needing a recharge. Try to guess how long it’ll take to trim what you need to trim and plan accordingly.

4. Material of the Blade

The material of the blade will have a major impact on how long your trimmer will last. Most blades will be made out of stainless steel or chromium steel. It’s also important that the head of the razor be able to pivot and turn to meet the different shapes of your body, as the textures are quite different than the face.

5. Price

This isn’t a huge concern, as most body trimmers cost around $50 or so. If you want a nice one, you’ll have to pay more, but think long and hard before you shill out $100 or more. Unless you’re a barber, stylist or just serious about your beard, you won’t need an expensive model.

10. Philips Norelco Multigroom 3000 MG3750

Philips Norelco Multigroom MGThe Philips Norelco Multigroom 3000 is a very nice budget trimmer that comes with a whopping 13 different attachments, making it both an affordable and diverse all-in-one product. Attachments include stubble comb, mustache and beard trimmers, nose trimmer, detail trimmers, and a full trimmer.

The Multigroom 3100 offers 18 different length settings, allowing you to trim your body hair the way you want it. This trimmer is waterproof so that you can wash it after every use. This cordless trimmer runs for an hour and has a quick-charge feature that allows you to use it after just minutes of charging, perfect for when you’re on the go.

This isn’t the best trimmer for getting under the armpits or trimming chest hair, although it’ll do the job. However, for a trimmer that costs less than 20 bucks, you can’t go wrong here.

Pros:

  • Comes with 13 different attachments
  • Runs for an hour
  • Have a useful quick-charge features
  • Comes with a two-year warranty

9. Gillette Fusion Proglide Styler Men’s Body Groomer

Gillette Fusion Proglide Styler Groomer

We’ve all seen the commercials for Gillette on TV. This is one of the first Gillette products I’ve used, and I have to say I liked it.

The Gillette Fusion Proglide Styler Men’s Body Groomer is a 3-in-1 dermatologist tested device that is perfect for trimming as well as shaving. This groomer uses the same quality of blades that made Gillette a household name, and it has the advanced blades and edging blades that provide a perfect shave.

The Gillette Fusion Groomer ships with an organizer, battery, three custom-length combs, a ProGlide power cartridge, and a trimmer. You can clean the device with water, and the organizer is super handy, as it makes it easy to store all of your accessories in one place instead of a confused pile behind the mirror.

The trimmer works well, but I would advise using it with shaving cream or gel.

Pros:

  • Nifty container keeps everything organized
  • Comes with three different combs

Cons:

  • Uses AA battery instead of rechargeable battery
  • Replacement attachments not available in stores

8. Yunai Professional 8 in 1 Electric Blade Men’s Trimmer

Yunai Professional Electric Blade Mens TrimmerThis stylish eight-in-one trimmer from Yunai has got a lot going for it. It’s versatile and has plenty of attachments good enough to keep your body hairs trimmed. However, It works on 100 to 240 volts with a frequency of around 50 to 60 Hz – these are European Union standards, and the trimmer has to be converted to U.S. measurements with a converter plug. It has a lithium-ion battery that recharges in 2 hours.

The Yunai Professional is designed to meet almost all your needs. You can trim your beard and mustache, clip drooping hairs from your nose and ears and keep your body hairs trimmed to a manageable level. The attachments include a hair clipper comb, shaver trimmer, precision trimmer, nose trimmer, and full-size trimmer.

Pros:

  • Attractive, stylish design
  • Comes with eight different accessories

Cons:

  • Converter plug needed to work with outlets in the United States

7. Philips Norelco BG2034/42 3100 Bodygroomer

Philips Norelco BodygroomerChest hair looks tough and manly. No one likes back hair. The Philips Norelco Bodygroomer was especially designed to make it easier to shave your back. I don’t have hair on my back, so I wasn’t able to test it personally, but it has a much longer head so I can understand how it would help facilitate that.

The BG2034/42 is a hypoallergenic device that is safe for cleaning legs, shoulders, back, abs, chest, and underarms. It comes with three different combs so you can tailor fit your body hair to different lengths. The specially designed shaving head helps to avoid painful cuts while helping to provide a more even cut between shorter and longer hairs.

In addition to being hypoallergenic, the Bodygroomer is also waterproof, so you can use it in the shower and wash all your hairs down the drain. Much to my dismay, however, it takes a full 8 hours to completely recharge the battery, and its operating time is just 50 minutes. However, there is a light that shows the battery status, with a green color indicating a full battery while an orange light blinks when the battery is about to end.

This is a good body groomer, but I just wish it didn’t take so long to charge, or that it had an option to be corded to avoid such long charging times.

Pros:

  • Extra long design makes it easier to trim back hairs
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Comes with three different combs
  • Helpful battery light indicators

Cons:

  • It takes a full 8 hours to charge

6. Wahl 9854-600 Lithium Ion All In One Trimmer

Wahl Lithium Ion TrimmerThere is one thing I liked about this Wahl trimmer: it has two different charging methods. For anyone who’s in a hurry, that is a major boon and a good reason to recommend this model.

As far as the trimmer goes, it comes with a wide assortment of attachments that allow you to touch up and trim just about any part of your body, making it a true all-in-one trimmer. These precision attachments include trimmer blades used for facial hairs, the Precision detailer for trimming brows, hair removers for the nose and ears, dual shaver for the body as well as the face and head and a clipper blade. A smart LED and an automatic charge off are added bonuses that make this a very nice trimmer for a reasonable price. It also has quite a bit of torque, which is useful for removing longer, curly hairs.

The Wahl 9854-600 is a pretty effective trimmer that has enough torque to get even tough trims done quickly, although you’re going to want to do a full charge if you plan on doing the extensive trimming. Quick charges take just five minutes, and a full charge is ready in an hour. The trimmer can run for up to three hours on a full charge. All in all, a very nice trimmer that comes with a ton of useful attachments.

Pros:

  • Comes with eight different accessories
  • Offers more torque for superior trim
  • Five-minute quick charge

Cons:

  • Trimming beard without attachments can pull hard and hurt

5. Remington PG6170

Remington PGEvery time I hear the name Remington, I think of Pierce Brosnan’s popular role as the television detective Remington Steel, and I can’t see Pierce Brosnan without thinking of James Bond. As a result, I watched GoldenEye after I used this beard trimmer.

There is no connection between Alex Trevelyan and this body trimmer save one: they’re both awesome. (I think Trevelyan is the of the greatest Bond villains of all time.) First off, the PG6170 can run on battery power for up to three hours, which is a lot longer than most of them. Second, the steel blades have been coated with titanium, making them almost invulnerable to damage. A five-minute quick charge gives just enough time for a quick shave if you’re in a hurry, and the trimmer comes with nine different attachments, making it well suited for some tasks.

The trimmer is waterproof and backed by a two-year warranty. It also has nine different length settings, offering you a decent array of customization. This wasn’t my favorite body trimmer, but it was in my top three. I guess it has something else in common with GoldenEye after all.

Pros:

  • Comes with nine different accessories
  • Battery can run for three hours straight
  • Can quick charge in just five minutes

Cons:

  • Plastic casing could be stronger

4. Philips Norelco BG2040/34 Bodygroom 7100

Best Philips Norelco BodygroomThe Philips Norelco Bodygroom is an excellent trimmer designed to provide close, clean trims for all parts of the body. It has a very modern, efficient design.

The head of the Bodygroom 7100 pivots in three different directions, provides you with a safe shave that closely follows the varying contours of your body. There are five built-in comb lengths that allow for some personal optimization.

The 7100 has a two-year warranty. It uses a rechargeable battery, and a charging station is included. This is probably one of the finer body trimmers I used, as the flexible head makes it easier to trim hard-to-reach and sensitive places such as the armpits. A very good model.

Pros:

  • Designed to meet all your grooming needs
  • Has several attachments and adjustment lengths

Cons:

  • Has to charge for 24 hours before its first use

3. MANGROOMER Ultimate Pro Back Shaver

Best MANGROOMER Ultimate Pro Back ShaverLike the Bodygroom 3100, the Mangroomer Ultimate Pro Back Shaver is designed to make shaving your back – arguably the hardest area to reach by yourself – easily accessible. It succeeds in this very well, surpassing the Philips Norelco Bodygroom quite easily.

The design of this trimmer is sleek, and the on/off button is in plain sight in the body, which also has a charging light that lets you know when the trimmer is powered up and ready. The extra long handle is made so that you can reach any area of your back, and it has a special power burst mode that allows you to get through especially thick patches of hair.

The Mangroomer comes with two different detachable heads. One is designed to take down longer hairs, while the other is suited for shorter ones. The long handle latches into place for stability while shaving and the head are designed to follow the contours of your back for a closer, safer shave.

This isn’t the best trimmer for all-around use. It’s larger and a bit bulkier than some other models. But if you need a great back trimmer, I can think of no finer one to use.

Pros:

  • Extra-long handle allows you to shave your entire back
  • Two heads to work with different lengths of hair
  • Charging lights let you know when trimmer is ready

Cons:

  • Bulky design is less effective for general body grooming

2. Wahl 9818 Lithium Ion Stainless Steel All-in-one Groomer

Best Wahl Lithium Ion Stainless Steel GroomerThe Wahl 9818 Lithium Ion Stainless Steel All-in-one Groomer is manufactured in the USA with a heavy-duty body and detachable stainless. There is a staggering amount of attachments included, so many I’ve lost count (it’s somewhere between 18 and 20). It also comes with a handy pouch for storing everything, oil for the blade and a charging station.

Attachments include trimmers for the brows, nose, and ears, a detail trimmer for beards, several detail shavers for outlining and shaving, and eight T-blades for haircuts and trims. It takes an hour to charge but can run for up to four hours, making it a very effective body trimmer and an unbeatable value.

Pros:

  • A massive number of accessories
  • Runs for up to four hours on a single charge
  • Made in the USA
  • Comes with a five-year warranty

Cons:

  • None

1. Philips Norelco Multigroom 7100 w/ eight attachments

Best Philips Norelco Multigroom weight attachmentsI liked this trimmer a lot. I’ve used it before as a beard trimmer, so I wanted to see how well it worked on the rest of the body. It has an impressive 18 built-in adjustment settings and comes with eight separate attachments for performing a variety of detailed work and also enabling you to trim longer beards, as well as unruly back hair. The attachments include a full-size metal guard trimmer, a body trimming comb, hair clipping comb, beard comb, stubble comb, and nose trimmer.

All in all, this is a very versatile trimmer that can take care of a lot more than just beards. It can run for one hour, which is enough time for most men to trim everything they need to. However, I ended up feeling like this is better suited to trimming beards than body hair. It does a good job, but for the price, I feel like there are better options for you.

Pros:

  • Has 18 different length settings
  • Comes with eight different attachments
  • Includes 2-year warranty

Cons:

  • Not as effective at trimming body hair as a proper trimmer

Top 10 Best Beard Trimmer Reviews

Have you ever noticed how some people always seem to have luxurious, perfectly manicured beards? You can have one too! The trick is finding a great beard trimmer that works for you.

The challenge comes in finding the right beard trimmer for you. There are dozens or even hundreds of different types of beard trimmers on the market, and finding the good from the bad is not an easy task.

No one has the time to do that kind of research themselves, so we’ve created this handy guide to help you find the best beard trimmer for your facial hair and your lifestyle.

Things to Consider

Buying a beard trimmer isn’t rocket science, but there are still some things you should keep in mind before buying, especially if you’re in the business of cutting hair. Most barbers will already know these things, but some people cut hair as a little side business. Here are five things to keep in mind before you buy.

1. Attachments

One of the most important features of a beard trimmer is the attachments that may (or may not) be included. A beard trimmer without any accessories or the ability to adjust will be a pretty one-dimensional trimmer. If you like your beard a consistent length, this may not be a problem, but if you want to experiment, you’re out of luck.

2. Power Supply

Some trimmers run on AC power and plug into a wall. Others will have a battery. If they come with a battery, is it a rechargeable one with a power charging station, or will you have to replace the batteries as they die?

3. Running Time

If the trimmer is not battery-powered and has a cable, it will be able to run endlessly, and this particular point is irrelevant. If, however, it’s a battery-powered trimmer, pay attention to how long they’ll run before needing a recharge. Most will run long enough to trim your beard, but professionals will want to pay close attention to this.

4. Material of the Blade

The material and durability of the razor blade will have a major impact on how long your razor will last. Most blades will be made out of chromium steel.

5. Price

This isn’t a huge concern, as most beard trimmers cost around $50 or so. If you want a nice one, you’ll have to pay more, but think long and hard before you shill out $100 or more. Unless you’re a barber, stylist or just serious about your beard, you won’t need an expensive model.

EDITORS PICK

There are a lot of different models to choose from, and picking one that we thought shone above all the rest was no easy task. However, we felt that the Panasonic ER-GB40-S stands a cut above the competition. While it isn’t necessarily the best beard trimmer that money can buy, it’s easily the best value for its price.

10. Panasonic ER224S All-in-One Hair Clipper & Beard Trimmer

Panasonic ERS All in One Hair Clipper Beard Trimmer

If you’re looking for a simple budget trimmer, the Panasonic ER224S is a good bet. It’s affordable and has a wide range of abilities.

The Panasonic ER224S All-in-One Hair Clipper & Beard Trimmer is designed to work with both wet and dry shaving methods. It can be dipped in water and can be used while in the shower, although you might want to have a mirror in there first. It can run for about 40 minutes on a single charge, but it takes 8 hours to fully charge, which is a ridiculously long time. That alone makes this completely unsuitable for professional use.

The ER224S has 14 length settings that can be adjusted according to your requirements. This all-in-one device comes with a replacement blade, cleaning brush, oil, and charger. You want to make sure you oil it before each use, or it can get stuck in your beard. In fact, unless I specify otherwise, that pretty much goes for all beard trimmers.

Pros:

  • Can be immersed in water
  • Has 14 length settings
  • Comes with replacement blade

Cons:

  • Only runs for 40 minutes
  • It takes 8 hours to charge

9. TRYM II Hair Clipper Kit

TRYM II Hair Clipper Kit

This is a super-sleek looking trimmer that is sure to make you look twice. While it’s not the most effective beard trimmer, it’s the most stylish, and that earns it points all by itself.

This all-in-one trimmer is ideal for grooming both beard and mustache, and it’s not going to break the bank. It features strong, professional grade blades that are probably made out of steel. (I couldn’t find the material on the box.) It comes with four different trimming attachments ranging from 1.5 to 9 mm in length. This is a cordless trimmer, and it comes with both the adapter and charging base.

The TRYM II Hair Clipper Kit has a classy design that looks fabulous with any bathroom décor. It comes with a one-year warranty, but that’s probably all the life you’ll get out of it. It doesn’t have a fantastic battery

Pros:

  • Sleek, attractive design
  • Comes with four different attachments

Cons:

  • Battery life isn’t all that great
  • Unlikely to outlast its warranty

8. Braun BT5070 Beard Trimmer

Braun BT Beard TrimmerThe Braun BT5070 is a pretty impressive trimmer in a small package. It is packed with a lot of great features that provide excellent performance at a reasonable value.

The most impressive thing about the trimmer is its great flexibility. It can trim from 1 mm all the way to 10 mm with half-millimeter increments in between. All told, there’s something like 25 different trim settings available, which is a fantastic bargain. The blades are very sharp, and they don’t pull or tug on your beard too much.

One thing I liked was how quickly it charged. It can run for about 50 continuous minutes, and it only takes an hour to charge. You can also plug it in directly to your power outlet and trim indefinitely. All of these features combine to create a very versatile and affordable beard trimmer.

Pros:

  • Has 25 different length settings
  • Only takes an hour to charge
  • Can be immersed in water

Cons:

  • Doesn’t work in the shower
  • Can’t be used for wet shaves

7. Philips Norelco Multigroom 7100 w/ 8 Attachments

Best Philips Norelco Multigroom w AttachmentsPhilips Norelco is one of the leading brands of men’s grooming products. This includes beard trimmers. This is the first Philips Norelco trimmer I tested, but it isn’t the last. In fact, half of the beard trimmers I used were Philips.

I liked this trimmer a lot. Not only does it have 18 built-in adjustment settings, but it also comes with eight separate attachments for performing a variety of detailed work and also enabling you to trim longer beards. The attachments include a full-size metal guard trimmer, a body trimming comb, hair clipping comb, beard comb, stubble comb, and nose trimmer.

The Multigroom 7100 is made with chromium steel blades, so they stay sharp a very long time. All in all, this is a very versatile trimmer that can take care of a lot more than just beards. It can run for one hour, which is enough time for most men to trim everything they need to.

Pros:

  • Has 18 different length settings
  • Comes with eight different attachments
  • Includes 2-year warranty

Cons:

  • Not as effective at trimming body hair as a proper trimmer

6. Philips Norelco BeardTrimmer 7200

Philips Beard TrimmerIf you’re looking for an awesome, high-tech Philips Norelco beard trimmer, you have to try this trimmer. It uses a variety of advanced technologies, including a vacuum system that captures a lot of your trimmed hairs for easy disposal and less mess.

Adjustable length settings are critical in a beard trimmer, and the 7200 does not disappoint, offering 20 different settings from 0.5 to 10 millimeters. For those with longer beards and curly facial hair, several attachments are included to further control your trim and minimize beard pulling. The stainless steel blades are self-sharpening and offer a clean, even trim, and the trimmer is easy to clean.

This is a fantastic beard trimmer and is very reasonably priced. While it doesn’t have as many accessories as some other trimmers, it does the job it needs to and does it well.

Pros:

  • Vacuum catches most of your cut hairs
  • Has 20 different length settings
  • Comes with several attachments

Cons:

  • You have to partially disassemble the trimmer to empty it

5. Panasonic ER-GB40-S Cordless Moustache & Beard Trimmer

Panasonic Cordless Moustache Beard TrimmerThe Panasonic ER-GB40-S is one of the best beard trimmers I tried, and the best for the price. It has nearly as many settings as the Philips Norelco 7200 and is sturdier and better built.

Thew ER-GB40-S has 19 different length adjustments from one to ten millimeters, providing you with plenty of options for trimming and caring for your beard and mustache. The stainless steel blades are set at a 45-degree angle, improving the cutting edge and making the trimming process easier, allowing for better control. It comes with a rechargeable battery than can run for up to 50 minutes, or you can plug it in and run it longer, which is ideal for barbers and other professionals.

I enjoyed the unique vacuum feature present on the 7200, but it was a bit of a pain in the butt to clean out. The ER-GB40-S is as messy as a traditional trimmer, but you don’t have to take it apart and put it back together every time you trim. Both trimmers are a great choice, but I’d have to give this one a slight edge over the competition.

Pros:

  • Can run on battery or be plugged in
  • Has 19 different length settings
  • Comes with several attachments

Cons:

  • Charging process takes a long time
  • Might be underpowered for some beards

4. Philips Norelco BG2040/34 Bodygroom 7100

Philips Norelco BG Bodygroom

This particular Philips Norelco model is an excellent multipurpose trimmer that can cut and shave the shoulder, back, arms, underarms, abs, and chest. It has a very modern, professional design and is very durable.

The 3-way pivoting head of the Bodygroom 7100 provides you a safe shave as it follows the shape of your body to avoid any injury, making it ideal not just for trimming beards but, as the name suggests, the whole body. The razor has five built-in comb lengths that allow for a variety of close and not-quite-so-close trims.

The 7100 comes with a two-year warranty and uses a rechargeable battery with a charging stand included. I had some success with it, but it is probably better for trimming body hairs than facial hairs. I’m not a particularly hairy man, and I prefer my leg hairs to be long, so I don’t have a lot of use for a body trimmer. It works just fine on the beard, but no better really than some other, less expensive options. If you want a good multi-purpose trimmer, however, this is a good pick.

Pros:

  • Designed to meet all your grooming needs
  • Only takes an hour to charge

Cons:

  • Has to charge for 24 hours before its first use

3. Philips Norelco BeardTrimmer 9100

Best Philips BeardTrimmerThe Philips Norelco 9100 beard trimmer takes trimming to a whole new level by using a laser-guided trimmer for the ultimate in comfort and precision. This futuristic-looking trimmer is probably one of the most intriguing designs I’ve ever seen.

The laser in question isn’t used to cut your hairs, of course. Such a laser would be quite hot, and the potential for burns would be significant. Rather, the 9100 uses a low-powered laser that serves as a guide, allowing you to make clean, straight lines easier than ever before. Like most Philips Norelco trimmers, there are plenty of length options at your disposal – in this case, 17. Furthermore, the blades are composed of chromium rather than stainless steel, making them tougher and sharper.

Since this razor can be used with or without a cord, it has excellent versatility. The laser guide takes a bit of getting used to, but it can be an excellent tool for more precise trims. This trimmer is perhaps best suited for a professional who can make the most out of the laser features. It’s a bit more than I would ever need, but it works well and looks cool.

Pros:

  • Utilizes a laser guide for ultimate precision
  • Has 17 different length settings
  • Can run on battery or be plugged in

Cons:

  • Laser guide takes some time to get used to
  • Could use a better beard guard

Best Beard Trimmers Under $150

2. Philips Norelco Beard Trimmer 7300

Philips Norelco TrimmerWe return to Philips Norelco one last time with what may be their best razor yet: the BeardTrimmer 7300. Like the 7200, the 7300 is also a vacuum powered beard trimmer, capturing your hairs and minimizing the mess.

While it doesn’t have quite as many settings as the 7200 (18 instead of 20), it makes up for it by offering a more diverse range of lengths to choose from. Indeed, unlike most beard trimmers, the 7300 adjusts in increments of one millimeter from 1 all the way to 18 millimeters, so even gentleman who likes longer beards will be satisfied.

The other feature that stood out to me was a turbo mode. Some men have tougher beards than others, and the turbo mode gives you the power you need to work through the curly hair and get the results you deserve. This beard trimmer is a bit on the expensive side, but it works well enough to be worth it.

Pros:

  • Vacuum catches most of your cut hairs
  • Has 18 different length settings
  • Comes with a two-year warranty

Cons:

  • Somewhat expensive
  • Door that collects shavings is flimsy

Best Beard Trimmers Under $200

1. Andis Professional Ceramic Hair Clipper

Andis Professional Ceramic Hair Clipper

This awesome, albeit expensive trimmer and hair clipper from Andis tool feature seven attachment combs, four ounces of hair clipper oil, a charging unit and battery pack, blade, and rechargeable clipper.

Unlike most of these clippers, this dual-purpose clipper can trim and cut hair just as well as it can groom your beard. While this is far and away the most expensive option I reviewed, it’s also the most functional, and it’s convenient to be able to trim my beard and hair with the same tool. My wife (who’s a stylist and knows better) once tried to trim my beard using a regular hair clipper, and it wasn’t very pleasant, so I enjoyed how well this one worked on both fronts.

The battery charges in just an hour and runs for 60 minutes. For your safety, the blades of this system are designed in such a way that it remains cool to protect you from skin rash. The Andis Professional Ceramic Hair Clipper has detachable blades that make it easy to clean them or change them out, and all blades are made from metal instead of cheap plastic clip-on.

The price of this clipper makes it inaccessible to some budgets, but if you can afford it, you won’t regret it.

Pros:

  • Very nice, clean trim
  • Works on both hair and beard
  • Comes with seven attachments

Cons:

  • Electrical cord base is sold separately
Shop from AmazonAdd to Cart Amazon

Conclusion

As you see, there are a lot of different options out there, many of which are less than $50. I liked the performance of the Panasonic ER-GB40-S, but there are a lot of other options too. If we lived in a perfect world, they would all function like the Andis, look like the Trim and have a laser guide like the 9100. Since this hypothetical perfect beard trimmer doesn’t exist, we all have to make do. While I think the Andis provided the actual best performance, its prohibitive cost makes it unsuitable for some. Nevertheless, there are a lot of great choices to be made here, and we hope you are happy with your purchase.

Top 10 Best Double Edge Safety Razor Reviews

I don’t care if you shave every day or once a month: a quality razor is essential.

There are many areas of personal care a man might skimp on and come out ahead. I don’t buy expensive soap, shampoo or shaving cream and I’m doing just fine. A razor, however, is not one of those things.

I made the mistake of buying a cheap bag of razors once when I was on the road. I ended up with about a dozen cuts on my face, and I hardly looked professional. Not only was it painful and unsightly, but it was a long, tedious affair.

There are a variety of different types of razors available on the market. One popular type is the double bladed razor. This type of razor is designed to shave your face without painful and unsightly cuts or irritation of the skin.

If you’re on the lookout for a high-quality double-edged razor for travel or home use that’s going to last you a while, you’ve come to the right place. This guide will direct you to some of the highest quality double edged safety razors on the market.

Things to Consider

Safety razors were first invented around the turn of the century as a viable alternative to traditional razor blades, which required extreme care and precision to ensure you didn’t cut yourself. (It was one reason many men chose to wear facial hair.) Although there are far more shaving options today than there were at the turn of the century, double edged safety razors remain a popular choice. Here are five things to keep in mind while you shop.

1. Blade Material

This is one of the most important things to look for in a safety razor. A quality blade will use stainless steel, carbon steel or titanium. The stronger the blade, the longer it will hold its edge.

2. Sharpness

There’s a fine balance to this one, as a safety razor has to be efficiently sharp without being dangerous. I don’t think I need to tell you that a sharper blade trims your whiskers more finely and more quickly, resulting in a smoother, cleaner shave.

3. Construction

A good safety razor is about more than just the blade. The whole construction is critical. A lot of cheap store-bought razors use plastic handles that break easily. Any safety razor worth its weight uses a crafted metal handle.

4. Accessories

This one isn’t critical, as the blade is the most important part. However, a lot of razors come with leather or leatherette carrying cases which make it easy to store and carry your razor safely. If you use a toiletry bag or travel a lot, you’re going to want a safety razor that comes with these.

5. Price

This is actually a little different than you think. Generally speaking, there’s no reason you should pay more than $40 or $50 for a safety razor. The reason is that after a certain point, any improvements on the design become superficial, and you’ll end up paying more for no good reason.

EDITORS PICK

To be perfectly honest, this one really wasn’t much of competition. While there are a lot of fantastic safety razors out there, something about the style, quality and presentation of the Vikings Blade put it well ahead of the competition.

Double Edge Safety Razor Under $20

10. Perfecto Long Handle Double Edge Safety Razor

Perfecto Double Edge Long Handled Safety Razor

A quality shave shouldn’t have to cost a lot. If you’re looking for a good, well-designed blade for less than the price of dinner than Perfecto is just what you’re looking for. This simple, stylish razor is designed to minimize skin irritation, making it perfect for anyone with sensitive skin.

The Perfecto razor is designed with a long, 3.5-inch handle to provide superior grip and handling, giving you greater control over your shaving. The razor is designed to allocate just the right amount of pressure, providing you with a clean, smooth, soothing shave. This razor is simple, offering a classic, timeless design without breaking the bank.

The one downside to it is it doesn’t come with any spare blades. Also, since it doesn’t have a butterfly opening, changing the blades can be a hassle. Still, this is a good razor at a very reasonable price, and its solid construction will last a long time.

Pros:

  • Simple, elegant design
  • Longer 3.5-inch handle

Cons:

  • Changing the blade is frustrating
  • Does not come with spare blades

9. WEISHI Long Handle Double Edge Safety Razor

WEISHI CL Long Handle Double Edge Safety Razor

If you’re looking for a simple, elegantly designed safety razor, then you’ll enjoy the WEISHI double edge safety razor. This simple tool doesn’t come with spare blades, a carrying case or any other accessories. It is, however a very attractive and efficient safety razor available at a reasonable price.

Unlike the Perfectom, the WEISHI razor utilizes a butterfly open to ensure quick and easy blade replacement. The simple design makes it easy to maintain a perfectly clean and close shave. It is designed to provide comfort, and the long, 4.5-inch handle gives you better control over the razor, reducing the chance of injury.

The double edge blade is sharp and efficient, and the handle design is beautifully crafted, making this a razor any man would be thrilled to own. It would be nice if the razor shipped with additional blades, but it is nevertheless a very good razor at a reasonable price.

Pros:

  • Simple, elegant design
  • Butterfly open makes it easy to switch blades
  • Longer 4.5-inch handle

Cons:

  • Doesn’t come with any spare blades

8. Dorco Prime Double Edge Starter Set

Dorco Prime Double Edge Starter SetThe Dorco Prime Starter Set is available for just a few dollars more than the WEISHU and comes in a much better package. The starter set includes not only the razor but a travel case with a mirror, making it easy to shave on the go, even in a car. The travel case also fits comfortably in a toiletry bag, making it convenient for travel. Also included are 30 double-edged replacement blades.

As far as the razor goes, the design isn’t as elegant as some other models, but it is perfectly efficient. The handle is three inches long, which isn’t as long as some but should still be long enough to provide adequate grip. The blades are made of stainless steel and are interchangeable with most double edge safety razors, so if something happens to this razor or you decide to switch to another one, you’ll still be able to use the blades.

While I really liked the packaging the razor was sent in, I’m not as fond of the razor itself. The handle isn’t as long as I would have liked, and while the blade does provide a very close shave, it’s almost too close and can cause skin irritation and is easy to knick yourself if you’re not careful. I’m used to cutting myself when I shave because I’m not as careful as I should be (I’m usually in a hurry), and getting knicked by this razor hurts like the dickens.

Pros:

  • Includes travel case and replacement blades
  • Butterfly open makes it easy to switch blades

Cons:

  • Shorter handle
  • Not the best for inexperienced users

7. Elkaline Double Edge Safety Razor Shaving Kit

Elkaline Double Edge Safety Razor Shaving KitIf you’re looking for a complete shaving kit but want something a little flashier than the Dorco Prime, check out this set from Elkaline. It includes a nice travel kit just like the Dorco Prime but also comes with a dedicated stand for your razor while you’re at home, leaving you with a safe and convenient place to keep your razor when it’s not in use.

The razor itself is beautiful. I’d call the handle a work of art. The blades are made of durable, sharp stainless steel, and the convenient butterfly open allows you to swap out old blades for new ones in seconds. Like the Dorco set, this also includes extra blades, but only five as opposed to thirty.

The one thing I didn’t like about this razor was the short handle. I prefer long handled safety razors as I feel like it gives me better control over the shave. This is a very nice razor and an excellent travel kit, but make sure you’re comfortable with a short handle.

Pros:

  • Includes travel case, stand and replacement blades
  • Butterfly open makes it easy to switch blades

Cons:

  • Shorter handle
  • Not the best for inexperienced users

6. Merkur Long Handled Safety Razor

Best Merkur Long Handled Safety RazorI’ve always liked German things. My great-grandfather moved to the United States from Deutschland. I had a roommate from Switzerland who spoke German. I love sausages, Oktoberfest and Volkswagen. So it comes as no surprise that I also really like the German-manufactured safety razor from Merkur.

This simple razor doesn’t have the most stylish design, but it doesn’t lack in ability. The handle is four inches long, which is long enough to give me plenty of freedom and control. The blade is a little smaller than some other razors, but it is very sharp and provides an ultra-close shave.

This particular model is popular not just for men but for women who want a closer shave for their legs. My girlfriend was using a cheap disposable Bic razor, and I recommended she toss it and use this one instead. She absolutely loved it. The razor doesn’t come with a travel pack or replacement blades, and because the razor head is smaller finding the right blades in a store can be challenging. But if you’re looking for a quality razor, this is a good pick.

Pros:

  • Simple, elegant design
  • Longer 4-inch handle
  • Perfect for shaving women’s legs

Cons:

  • Can be difficult to find replacement blades

5. Edwin Jagger Chrome Plated Double Edge Safety Razor

Best Edwin Jagger Chrome Plated Double Edge Safety RazorThe Edwin Jagger DE89bl is a fine double edge safety razor with a long handle and small Derby blades. It utilizes a very Spartan design which is elegant in its simplicity.

Despite the short handle, this is an expertly balanced razor, and those experienced with safety razors will love its easy handling and clean, close shave. The blades are very sharp, and the razor is rust resistant, so its perfect to use in the shower, so long as you don’t try to change the blades in the shower. It uses DE blades and is compatible with all Derby-style blades. The razor ships with three extra blades, so you won’t be needing more any time soon.

All in all, this is a fine razor and an excellent choice for anyone experienced in the art of wet shaving. As long as you take care of this razor, it will last you for years to come.

Pros:

  • Simple, elegant design
  • Longer 3-inch handle

Cons:

  • Only compatible with DE blades

4. VIKINGS BLADE Double Edge Safety Razor

Best VIKINGS BLADE Double Edge Safety RazorIf you’re looking for the crème de la crème of safety razors, you need a Vikings Blade Chieftain razor. I don’t know if this is the finest safety razor in the world, and I’m sure its a matter of some subjective preference, but it really doesn’t get much better than this.

This gorgeous safety razor is crafted in Australia with fine Swedish steel, and every single model is handcrafted to perfection. The razor-sharp steel blades are coated in platinum, making them tougher and more beautiful than ever before. Even better, the Chieftain razor uses butterfly open razors, so even if you run out of Viking Blades or can’t find them in store, you can substitute any like blade.

Fortunately, the Chieftain ships with five additional blades, as well as a handle leatherette and suede case to store your razor and keep it safe. The intuitive design of the blade is made to appeal to both beginners and expert alike, leaving no one dissatisfied. It even comes with an international lifetime warranty, so you know that Vikings Blade stands by their customers. This is an excellent safety razor, and I heartily recommend it.

Pros:

  • Made with premium Swedish metal
  • Comes with a lifetime warranty
  • Includes travel case and replacement blades
  • Butterfly open makes it easy to switch blades

Cons:

  • None

3. Premier Rasage Heavy Brass Double Edge Safety Razor

Best Premier Rasage Heavy Brass Double Edge Safety RazorThe Premier Rasage safety razor is one of the most unique safety razors I have ever seen. While most razors are made of aluminum or steel with a chrome finish, this razor is made out of solid brass, giving it a very striking appearance. It’s heavier than normal razors, so there’s plenty of force going into your shave.

The razor is clearly intended to imitate a Merkur razor like the one I reviewed above. It certainly resembles one physically even with the different metal, but the balance isn’t quite right. The razor cuts close, but it doesn’t seem balanced properly, and you have to be very careful to avoid cuts.

The razor uses DE blades, so it will be compatible with any of those blades you may have. The razor works well enough and the design is certainly striking, but in my opinion, you’ll be better off skipping this and buying the real deal from Germany.

Pros:

  • Striking brass appearance
  • Extra heavy

Cons:

  • Has some balancing issues
  • Easy to cut yourself

2. Gentleman Jon Complete Wet Shave Kit

Gentleman Jon Complete Wet Shave KitThe Gentleman Jon shaving kit is the perfect companion for the classy, modern man. The kit is similar to the Viking Blades and budget kits listed above, but this is far more complete, offering everything a man needs for the perfect wet shave.

This kit offers far more than just a razor and some spare blades. It includes a badger-hair brush, alum bar, high-quality shaving soap, a stainless steel shaving bowl and five replacement Astra brand butterfly blades. The razor is handsome and well-made and provides a clean, close shave. The soap is sandalwood and smells amazing.

If you’re new to the world of wet shaving, this is an amazing starter kit and has everything you need to get going. If you already have all the components, you need and are just looking for a razor. However, you’re probably better off buying Merkur or Vikings Blade.

Pros:

  • Includes soap, brush and replacement blades
  • Butterfly open makes it easy to switch blades

Cons:

  • Too expensive for anyone just looking for a razor

Double Edge Safety Razor Under $350

1. Feather Stainless Steel Double Edge Safety Razor

Feather Stainless Steel Double Edge Safety RazorAlthough I’ve included the Seki Edge Feather Razor on this list, I do so with some hesitation. My hesitation has nothing to do with quality – this is a fine razor – but with the price. I’m not sure this razor is good enough to cost three or four times more than a standard safety razor.

Don’t get me wrong. This razor is amazing. Crafted in Japan by the same masters who make samurai swords, the blade cuts so cleanly and precisely. It gets right in there for a super close shave, and it’s actually pretty hard to cut yourself unless you’re being really clumsy. The quality is top-notch as well. Not only is the razor made out of premium stainless steel, but it is also coated in chrome with a matte finish, making it virtually indestructible.

The only downside is the price. This is not a cheap razor. While its craftsmanship is indisputably fine, I doubt most men will notice a significant difference. The razor is strong enough to last a lifetime, and on a timeline of 50 years, this is actually very reasonably priced. It is nevertheless a significant investment, and not for the faint of heart.

Pros:

  • Crafted in Japan by master designers
  • Simple, elegant design
  • Incredibly close shave

Cons:

  • Rather expensive

Conclusion

Shaving doesn’t have to be a chore. For men who like to rock a clean-shaven appearance, shaving should be a wonderful experience and not a hassle. That’s why there is the Vikings Blade, a double-edged safety razor truly worthy of a man. The Merkur blade is almost as good and costs about $10 less, making it easily the best safety razor under $30.

If you want to take your shaving experience to the next level, you owe it to yourself to buy a fine razor. Whether you pick Vikings Blade, Merkur or another of these fine razors, your face will be in good hands.

Top 10 Best Electric Shaver Reviews

Choosing between a razor and an electric shaver is one of the big personal questions in men’s hygiene. There’s no wrong answer here. It’s a matter of personal preference, and both of them have their advantages.

If you’re on of those men who either shaves every day or likes to keep a finely-honed five o’clock shadow, chances are you’re using an electric shaver. Heaven knows that they’re not all made equal, however. Trying to shave with a cheap, ineffective shaver is a chore and a half. If you want to have a smooth, enjoyable shaving experience, you need to invest in a good electric razor.

Fortunately, they’re not all that expensive, and you can have a good model for less than $50. While that might seem like a lot of money, remember that these aren’t disposable razors: you’re making an investment. And making an investment in looking good is never a bad thing.
We’ve crafted this guide to help you find some of the best men’s electric shavers out there. Good luck.

Things to Consider

Just as men’s straight razors vary dramatically in type and quality, so to do electric razors. If you work in any type of professional setting, keeping your beard trimmed or your face clean-shaven can be imperative. Here are some things to keep in mind while shopping for an electric shaver.

1. Foil or Rotary

Electric shavers fall under two categories: foil razors and rotary razors. Both of them work, but some men prefer one type over the other.

2. Closeness of Shave

Whether you prefer foil or rotary shavers, it is important that you be able to get a close shave. Not all electric shavers are equal where this is concerned. A lot of cheap shavers leave stubble behind, which some men don’t like.

3. Battery Life

No shaver can run on battery power forever, but some shavers last longer than others. Cheaper shavers have about 30 minutes of battery life, which is enough for two or three shaves. Better shavers might have an hour or more of battery life.

4. Wet or Dry

Most electric shavers are meant to be used for dry shaves, but some of them can be used wet. You should pay close attention to this because electric shavers that can only be used dry aren’t going to work in the shower. If you shave in the shower, make sure your shaver is wet/dry.

5. Price

Electric shavers vary in price greatly, from less than $20 to almost $200. If you want a really good electric shaver, plan on spending at least $50.

EDITORS PICK

It can be challenging to tell the difference between different shavers because on the surface they all look pretty much the same, especially rotary shavers. That doesn’t mean that they all perform the same, however. In this instance, paying more really does equal a better product, and we believe that the Philips Norelco Shaver S9300 is the best electric Shaver on the market right now.

10. Kissliss Waterproof Rotary Shaver

Kissliss Waterproof Rotary ShaverI’ve always used a traditional razor when I shave, so trying out different electric shavers took a bit of getting used to. However, I also feel like my unfamiliarity gives me an advantage because I didn’t have any preconceived notions coming into this.

There are a few things I liked about the Kissliss Rotary Shaver. First of all, it’s a wet/dry razor, so you can use it while you’re in the shower if you want. (I don’t.) You can also use it with shaving cream or gel as a result. (I do.) Each of the three floating heads has four different blades that follow the contours of your face, which makes the shave pretty clean and close.

What I really liked about this shaver was the digital display, however. It shows you different power levels, from 20% to 100%, and it starts flashing on 20%, so you’re never left guessing if the shaver is running out of steam – or left without power in the middle of a shave. The battery lasts for up to two hours, which means you don’t have to charge it, which is also great constantly

All in all, this is a great shaver that gets in really close, and I don’t have a lot of complaints, especially for the price.

Pros:

  • Can be used wet or dry
  • Display lets you keep track of battery life
  • Runs for up to two hours

Cons:

  • Struggles against thicker facial hair

9. Philips Norelco Shaver 3500

Philips Norelco PT73046 Shaver 3500

The Philips Norelco 3500 is another fine shaver. It’s a lot like the Kissliss, but it doesn’t have some of the nice features that the previous shaver championed. Still, if you’re looking for a clean shave, this is a good choice.

This shaver is engineered to clean stubble both long and short using a dual precision shaving system. Like the Kissliss, it features a flexible head system with four separate blades on each head that moves according to the curve of your face and neck. The 3500 uses a lithium-ion battery that maintains consistent power and can run for 50 minutes on a single charge.

The head pops open, making cleaning a breeze. The shaver can be used wet or dry, making it a perfect shaving companion for any man in any situation. It’s not as nice as the Kissliss, but it’s still a very effective shaver.

Pros:

  • Can be used wet or dry
  • Runs for up to 50 minutes
  • Pops open for easy cleaning

Cons:

  • Takes longer to shave than more expensive models

8. Braun Series 3 ProSkin 3040s

Braun Series ProSkinOne of the challenges of trying out different electric shavers is that foil, and rotary shavers don’t work the same way. Both of them get the job done, but neither work like a straight razor, which threw me through a bit of a learning curve.

The Braun ProSkin 3040s is a foil shaver, and it uses three pressure-sensitive shaving elements. It’s a little closer to a traditional razor than a rotary, but it still took some getting used to. This works well on stubble and is designed to work on a three-day beard, although that depends greatly on whose beard we’re talking about.

The 3040s is especially designed to work with sensitive skin. It is 100% waterproof and can be used either wet or dry, so you get a perfect shave no matter what. It takes an hour to charge and can run for 45 minutes, although it also has a quick-charge setting if you need to shave in a hurry. It uses to rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.

Pros:

  • Can be used wet or dry
  • Runs for up to 45 minutes
  • Has a five-minute quick charge feature

Cons:

  • Does not perform as well on thicker beards

7. Philips Norelco Shaver 4500

Best Philips Norelco ShaverThe Philips Norelco 4500 shaver is an obvious step up from the 3500. It utilizes advanced AquaTec technology that provides a perfect, ideal shave whether you’re shaving dry or using gel. It also comes with a pop-up trimmer to trim your moustache and sideburns.

In most other respects, it is just like the 3500. It features four-blade heads that contour nicely to my face, and it is a pretty thorough shave, although I occasionally have to go back over an area when my beard is a little longer. It’s designed to be light on the sensitive skin, it has battery indicators for full and low, and it is easy to clean.

I have one fairly serious complaint, however. It takes eight hours to reach a full charge, which seems like an unreasonable amount of time, especially considering it only takes one hour to charge the 3500. It does have a three-minute quick charge feature, but that long charging time is inexcusable.

Pros:

  • Can be used wet or dry
  • Runs for up to 50 minutes
  • Has a three minute quick charge feature

Cons:

  • Takes a full eight hours to charge

6. Remington XR1410

Remington XRThe Remington XR1410 is one of only three shavers on this list that isn’t either Braun or Philips Norelco. What I really liked about the Remington is that it’s not just a rotary shaver, but it actually comes with a full grooming kit, including a beard trimmer and cleaning brushes.

As far as the shave is concerned, the Remington performs exactly as you would expect. Like other rotary shavers, it closely follows the contours of your face, allowing for a clean, smooth shave. It can be used either wet or dry, and it is completely waterproof for easy cleaning.

What really sets this shaver apart are all the attachments. It has a beard trimmer, cleansing brushes and even an exfoliating brush that removes dead skin and preps the face for a shave. It’s innovative design allows you to hold the shaver right to your face, giving you ultimate control. It does take four hours for a full charge, but with all the accessories included, I’m a little more forgiving of a long charge time. Along with the Philips Norelco 6800, this is my pick for the finest rotary shaver at the best value.

Pros:

  • Can be used wet or dry
  • Runs for up to 45 minutes
  • Comes with several attachments

Cons:

  • Takes four hours to charge fully

5. Philips Norelco Shaver 6800

Philips Norelco ShaverIf you’re looking for a step up from the 3500 and 4500 models, check out the Philips Norelco 6800. This shaver not only offers a closer shave capable of handling longer stubble, but it includes several other useful accessories, including a five-length trimmer attachment, a foldable charging stand and a travel pouch.

Even better, the razor is designed to run on a variety of voltage standards ranging from 100 to 240 volts, making this ideal for traveling overseas. It can be used wet or dry, and provides up to 5an hour of shaving time, enough for several uses before recharging. Unlike the 4500, it only takes an hour to charge, with is a major step up from an eight-hour waiting period.

This is an ideal shaver for the average man. It is fairly inexpensive, comes with a variety of accessories and offers a clean, close shave. Along with the Remington XR1410, this is my pick for the finest rotary shaver at the best value.

Pros:

  • Can be used wet or dry
  • Runs for up to 60 minutes
  • Comes with several attachments

Cons:

  • Beard trimmer attachment is not the best

4. Panasonic ES-LA63-S Arc4

Panasonic ESLAS ArcThis foil shaver from Panasonic takes a leap into the digital age with a full-on digital display. The display offers more than just battery life and charging information. It also provides reminders for cleaning and replacement so that you don’t forget to take care of business.

As far as the shaving itself, the ES-LA63-S Arc4 is really something. Each of its four blades is capable of making 14,000 cuts per minute, meaning that hundreds of individual cuts are made with every single stroke and pass – 56,000 cuts per minute! The Arc4 uses dual motors to ensure a smooth, even shave while the blades are working overtime to cut down your stubble.

Like most electric shavers, the Arc4 is designed to glide across the contours of your face for superior efficiency and comfort. A pop-up trimmer makes it easy to keep your moustache or sideburns looking trim and neat. If you’re looking for a high-quality foil shaver, this is the real deal.

Pros:

  • Can be used wet or dry
  • Runs for up to 45 minutes
  • LCD display provides important notifications

Cons:

  • Does not shave as closely as a traditional razor

3. Braun Series 5 – 5090cc

Braun SeriesccAccording to the official website, Braun is the world’s #1 seller of foil shavers and the official electric shaver of the NFL. I don’t really know why the NFL needs an official electric shaver, but there you have it.

The main feature of the Braun 5090cc is its charging station. See, this station does more than just charge your shaver; it cleans it as well. You can clean, charge and lubricate your shaver all at the touch of a single button, making it easier for you to keep your shaver maintained and saving your valuable time.

The shaver itself features a sleek, sexy, modern design that is sure to impress. FlexMotionTec with MicroMotion ensures that each shaving element individually responds to the contours of your face, providing a cleaner, smoother shave. The shaver is completely waterproof, and you can adjust the hed to five different angles to facilitate an even better shave.

The price tag on this shaver is fairly steep, but both the shaver and the charging station live up to the hype. If you’ve ever wanted to shave like your favorite quarterback, this is your big day.

Pros:

  • Can be used wet or dry
  • Runs for up to 45 minutes
  • Charging station cleans your shaver

Cons:

  • Awkward placement for on/off button

Best Electric Shavers Under $250

2. Braun Series 7 – 790cc

Braun Series ccMuch like the 5090cc, the Braun 790cc is an advanced foil shaver complete with a charging station that doubles as a cleaning station. The differences between the 5090cc and the 790cc have less to do with the charging station and more with the design of the shaver itself. All is as it should be.

The two shavers are significantly different in design, and they use different settings that allow you to customize your shave. The 790cc uses sonic vibration technology to give you additional power in tougher areas, creating up to 1000 micro-vibrations per minute. The 2x OptiFoil design can trim hairs to as little as 0.05 millimeters for an unbelievably short, clean finish.

The shaver is designed with three modes for different shaving needs, and you can switch between them at the touch of a button. Also, the on/off switch is placed lower on the shaver, making it less likely for you to accidentally turn it off mid-shave. The price tag on this bad boy is a little steep, but if you can afford it, this is a great foil shaver.

Pros:

  • Can be used wet or dry
  • Runs for up to 50 minutes
  • Charging station cleans your shaver

Cons:

  • None

Best Electric Shavers Under $300

1. Philips Norelco Shaver 9300

Philips Norelco ShaverThe ultimate rotary shaving experience is at your fingertips with the Philips Norelco 9300. Like the Braun 5090cc and 790cc foil shavers, the 9300 comes with a deluxe charging station that cleans, lubricates and dries your shaver while charging it.

The shaver itself works about as well as any other rotary shaver. The blades on the 9300 each move in eight different directions, and the shaver can be set to three different speed settings to accommodate different levels of stubble as well as the different thickness of beard.

Honestly, the biggest difference I noticed between the 9300 and the 6800 is the improvements made to the charger. I do think the 9300 offers a slightly closer shave, but I’m not sure it’s enough of a difference to pay twice as much for a shaver. I noticed more of a difference between low- and high-end foil shavers than rotary ones.

At the end of the day, the big difference here is in the SmartClean charging station. It’s very convenient, but I’m not sure it’s worth paying $100 more.

Pros:

  • Can be used wet or dry
  • Runs for up to 50 minutes
  • Charging station cleans your shaver

Cons:

  • Somewhat expensive
  • Does not have a built-in trimmer

Conclusion

There is no shortage of electric shavers out there, and while they all resemble each other physically, their performances are not necessarily equal. Hopefully, this guide has provided you with the information you need to make a smart shaving decision. There’s only one thing left for you to decide: foil or rotary.

Finally, I broke down and bought a toiletry bag. I bought a selection of everything I need and left it in the bag, so I always have it ready when I need to leave. It’s been a lifesaver.

If you’re looking for toiletry bags, there are a lot of different options out there. They very in shape, size, and overall manliness. Buying a toiletry bag isn’t exactly rocket science, but at the same time, a lot of men may not know exactly what they should be watching for. Here are five things to keep in mind while searching for the right toiletry bag.

1. Material

2. Size

It’s important that any toiletry bag is able to hold all of your essentials. Of course, those bathroom essentials will differ from one man to another. Consider your own needs and plan accordingly.

3. Washing

Chances are your toiletry bag will become dirty at some point or other. Some bags are machine washable, while others will have to be washed by hand. If you don’t want something hands-on, try to by a machine-washable bag.

4. Style

While a lot of toiletry bags feature rugged, handsome designs, others are more simple and down-to-earth. If you’re a fashionable fellow, you’re going to want a bag that has a little bit of style to it.

5. Price

Just like purses, toiletry bags can range in price a lot, and some high-end bags can be several hundred dollars. Try to be reasonable. If you only travel on occasion, a simple bag may be enough, but if you’re on the road a lot, it might be worthwhile to pay a little more money.

8. Wurkin Stiffs Men’s Silicone Doppel Kit Toiletry Travel Bag

Wurkin Stiffs Mens Silicone Toiletry Travel Bag

I can’t help but feel like the doppel kit from Wurkin Stiffs (I like the name) is a bit of a letdown. It comes in six different colors that let you customize your look, but at the same time, I find the silicone construction a little hokey looking. That said, the black bag with the red zipper looks really awesome.

Appearance issues aside, the bag is fully functional. It’s leak-resistant, so you don’t have to worry about a spilled contained ruining the rest of your luggage. It’s also large, measuring 10 x 5.5 x 6 inches. However, it doesn’t have any side compartments, so there’s no way to sort your toiletries. You just have to dump them all together and worry about it later.

The Wurkin Stiffs Men’s Silicone Doppel Kit Toiletry Travel Bag only weighs 1.1 pounds, and it is very easy to wipe off and clean thanks to its silicone material. Still, I wish that it at least had multiple pockets.

Pros:

  • Measures 10 x 5.5 x 6 inches
  • Leak resistant
  • Available in six colors

Cons:

  • Not the best looking

7. AmeriLeather Leather Toiletry Bag

Best AmeriLeather Leather Toiletry BagAs far as I’m concerned, leather is the name of the game where toiletry bags are concerned. The genuine leather of the aptly named AmeriLeather is appealing, and it manages to look a little less run down than the Dwelbee.

It is definitely a top-quality bag, and it has enough space to store all your essential needs. 4. Royce Leather Executive Toiletry Bag

Royce Leather Toiletry Bag

Leather, leather, leather. That’s what it’s all about. If you don’t believe me, check out Elvis’ legendary ‘68 Comeback Special. No one ever looked that good in leather before or since.

This isn’t my favorite toiletry bag, but it’s still nice and stylish. It’s got a convenient interior pocket and waterproof lining, and there’s plenty of room for all your belongings. That’s actually my main problem with it – the bag is oversized. Measuring 14 x 8 x 5 inches, there just seems to be too much room and not enough internal compartments.

If you’re looking for a large, traditional toiletry bag, you can’t go wrong with Royce Leather. But if you want something compact and contemporary, look somewhere else.

Pros:

  • Measures 14 x 8 x 5 inches
  • Made with genuine leatherette

Cons:

  • Must be hand washed
  • Too large to be convenient for some people
