Also known as Canton, Guangzhou is the largest and capital city of Guangdong province. In the entire Chinese city, Guangzhou is the third largest city and the largest city in South Central China.
While the 2014’s administrative area of the city was estimated to have a population of 13,080,500, some estimates include the entire Pearl River Delta Mega City with about 44 million total populations. Guangzhou is one of the most populous metropolitan agglomerations on Earth which was also called as the Beta+ world city.
7. Tianjin, China (12,938,224)
Located along the west coast of the Bohai Gulf, the city comprises of 4,037 square kilometers of the land area. With its neighboring provinces Shandong and Liaoning, the city is bordered by Beijing 120 kilometers to the northwest, the Hebei surround the east.
Tianjin is one of the five central cities of China. In terms of urban population, the city ranks fourth largest in the country while fifth in the Mainland China in terms of administrative area population. Shanghai is the largest Chinese city by population and the world’s largest city by population. It is one of the four direct-controlled municipalities of the country and the world’s busiest container port.
Shanghai is the international financial and transport center. With its land area estimate of 6,340.5 square kilometers, the city is located in the Yangtze River Delta in East China.
